This restaurant serves good and delicious HALAH Indian type food. Staff are friendly. Prices are a little high for Indian type food. The ambience is old and needs some attention. They made a mistake in our bill and corrected right away. They also made us pay for a soft drink my daughter spilled

Booked for dinner after many phone calls not being answered. Had the special garlic prawns which were tiny and tasted like they had been cooked in marmite served with a slice of white toast?!? Then ordered Thai chicken curry which my friend said was tasty. My tuna was so tough I sent it back. Told I would have a new one in 2 mins. After 15 mins when friend had finished eating and the table was cleared I went to find out where mine was. It arrived several minutes later stone cold. Sent it back and didnât pay for it. This place should not be no1. Try sunshine instead and see my review Would not recommend jungleDear valued guest, thank you for taking time to review Jungle Beach Ahungalla. We are sorry that you had this experience at our restaurant. As you can see in our menu the Sweet & Spicy Prawns are a starter, so they are not big sized and that they are served with toast. We are having very clear rules that our service should sell tuna steaks only when they are very fresh, so that they don't get tough. This was definitely our mistake and the management has taken action already. This should not happen anymore. Also it is not possible for our kitchen to prepare a new tuna steak in 2 minutes. Also there for we have taken action and excuse the wrong information of our service staff. He should have offered you a sear fish steak as an alternative.So it would be great to see you once again. You would definitely revisit your review. Thank you and have a nice day!

There is nothing special about this restaurant, except that it is the only restaurant of its kind we could find in the area. There are a lot of hotels in the area, but not many restaurants along the main road. We ordered Chinese food - fried rice with a few deviled dishes. We were surprised to hear that they only had "Balaya" fish (variety of Tuna) to offer for deviled fish, so ended up not ordering that dish. Even the prawns in the Devilled Prawn we ordered were not fresh - something that you don't expect from a restaurant in an area where fresh seafood is readily available. Nevertheless, the food was of acceptable quality and not overpriced either.

We were staying along the road from this restaurant and we visited all 3 evenings that we were staying. The garden is very pretty and has tables set outside with a view on to the river. You could also eat inside if you preferred. The food was excellent and great value and the service was always very good, highly recommend if you are staying nearby.

This is an excellent place for a buffet lunch. The food selection is very good from fried prawns to chips and all in between. Also good desserts and atmosphere, you cannot go wrong at 1500 rupee for the buffet. Recommend

We visited on 24/09/19 for Dinner and was shown to a lovely front balcony table for 2 overlooking the Railway tracks .My wife loves the seafood in Sri Lanka and was shown a lovely fresh Mullet which she had grilled and filleted served with rice,salad,fries and fresh roti with garlic.The fish was cooked to perfection and everything was hot and tasty .I had a couple of cold beers and a large rum/coke .The Staff were excellent and good fun to dine with.This was our second visit to Mallies (April 2019 ) and Iâm happy to say it is as good as ever .Keep up the good work guys and we will see you again some time soon .Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a beautiful review and you 5 star rating. While TripAdvisor places stars next to our business, you Garylee, are our real star. Most people don't bother to leave reviews about positive experiences incentivized, and that's what makes you the star.
