Reviews on International food in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Best known as the capital of Charlemagne's Frankish empire, today's Aachen sits at the juncture where Germany meets the Netherlands (the Dutch know it as Aken) and Belgium (where "Walloons" call it Aix-la-Chapelle). But Aachen's history goes back even further than 8th-century Charlemagne. Roman soldiers dating back to the 1st century AD cherished its hot springs (as did Charlemagne, who loved a good spa day just as much as the next guy). Aachen Cathedral, northern Europe's oldest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the city's main attraction.

Found this restaurant whilst rather lost on our first visit to Aachen. It was a dark Monday (1st Oct), nearing 22;00. It was raining and being post operative, I was in a wheelchair. Therefore to accidentally come across Ferbers, was the most welcoming of sights. The lights, sign of life, outdoor heaters and the enticing warmth of indoor silk effect flames. This was only exacerbated even more, by a young waiter opening the door to help us in. He had a huge smile on his face, which we soon realised was the ethos of all the fabulous staff. We were over-joyed. Not only somewhere open, post travelling from Sheffield (UK) 492.9 miles. To then receive such a warm hospitable welcome when you think of the time and day of the week it was, was truly appreciated. The restaurant is incredibly clean, very modern in decor and has lots of different aspects and areas to it, I can imagine Ferbers can very easily change its vibe from day to night and inside to outside, especially with it being located in a park. It must get extremely busy. The food we had was very nice (choice of soups with yummy warm little bread rolls, salmon pasta and steak. Tasty chips and salad) but it was the staff that really gives this venue the five stars. All the waiters were dressed so smart in black, very professional, yet really friendly. Even the kitchen staff acknowledged us, smiling and waving. What a good advert for Germany they all were. Especially Alan. He was so interested in us and where we were heading, yet was just as attentive to other guests. He even introduced us to other diners which just made us feel so welcome and at home. You could see how well the staff all got on and how well they worked together. It really did make for such a pleasurable experience. Therefore I really do recommend Ferbers Parkcafe. Wish it was nearer to us! If travelling anywhere near again, we would definitely make the effort to go out of our way to visit. Well worth the drive folks!

We would never find this wonderful place without tripadvisor. We recommend it to everyone. Meal is delicious and looks very appetizingly. POrtions are big. The place is cosy and clean. Nice beer and perfect deserts. We were with two kids (7 and 4) in the zoo and went their for dinner. Everyone left the place totally happy.Danke.L.G

... eine der ersten Adressen für gepflegte Gastlichkeit in angenehmer Atmosphäre und mit freundlichem Service !
If you're the type that likes 'old fashioned German food' eg schnitzel with pommes and vegetables, and furniture that hasn't been replaced since the early '80, then you might want to consider. We were here for a birthday last year which is the only reason we stayed... In all honesty, the food wasn't bad. It's just not what we normally eat and like

We had lunch and the food was good but the prices are to high for just simple good food. The big restaurant was pretty much empty so that felt a little weird.

Richtig lecker!
Friends recommended this modern restaurant as they live opposite the street. I ordered one out of two lunch offers, fried riceballs with mango on mashed sweet potatoe and cassis pak choi. Honestly, it sounded great, but the whole plate was a combination of sweet-sweet-sweet. I missed a tinge of sour or spicey to round up this dish. If the price they ask hasnât been that low, I would have given three stars. But the staff was well informed and very friendly.

We enjoyed every moment of our time as this wonderful small restaurant tucked away in Aachen. The owners served us and took care of us very well. We started with the fois gras -- it was perfect, so tender -- succulent. The best we've ever had anywhere! Plus a good-sized portion for the price. Next was the rabbit tenderloin: interesting and different, but maybe rabbit is not something we'd go for again; nevertheless this dish was beautifully prepared. Last was the creme brulee flamed at the table. We have had this many many other places, but this was wonderful and memorable. Wine selection was great, ambiance great. Proprietors were charming and added to the experience. We look to coming back.

We were there last November, just wanted to try some different from kebap cuisine. The service is immaculate, the owners are very pleasant people and the Polish food there is extremely delicious. We haven't tried anything else from their extensive menu, however they have pasta, kebap and few other dishes. The prices are perfectly fine. Today for 3 beers, 2x6 Pierogi and 1 plate of 4 Placki we paid 32 EUR.I totally recommend this place!
