After years abroad we were looking forward to eating fresh and delicious Indonesian dishes. It turned out to be very very disappointing and overpriced dinner. Table service was very fast (and friendly), and we soon discovered why ... itâs all prepared and re-heated in their ally of microwaves :-((( I have never experienced before this microwave trend in preparing fresh Indonesian food. Very unhealthy and a cheap way of presenting overpriced dishes to foreigners and locals. Avoid this place if you want to taste freshly prepared Indonesian dishes from the famous islands. Dear guest, I have read your review with interest. Your feedback is understandable if you do not know the cooking process of Indonesian dish understandably, but it is nonetheless unjustified. We serve authentic Indonesian rice tables. The characteristic of rice table dishes is that they can not be made a la carte. Making these dishes takes hours. The meat must first be marinated. Then it should simmer for hours on low heat. So it can not be made as a carte and needs to be warmed up. I would appreciate it if you modify or delete your review. Your review does not do justice to our restaurant. If you want to correspond directly with me,you can always do that. Our email address is [email protected]. With kind regards, Elly Thoral, owner Restaurant Toko Frederik

Small place well decorated and with a pleasant atmosphere. I and my wife have no experience of Indonesian food. I read some positive comments on the Nasi Rames a main Indonesian course made of many different preparations. Taken by the nice atmosphere I decided to go for the Nasi Kuning Special while my wife went for the Basic Goreng Damai. Both very good pleasently spicy though each enough in quantity for two people. It was a pity we could not eat all. The Indonesian beer goes well with the food. Service in spite of the many customer and the reduced space to move is perfect.A place I recommend.

Indonesian restaurant Didong is located in the centre of Duinoord. The name Didong means 'stubborn'. On the one hand this was chosen for its pleasant sound and on the other to give a 'stubborn' and contemporary twist to the business. The owners of Didong

After a long morning goggling at Rembrandts at the Mauritzhaus, we treated ourselves to a late lunch at this oasis of tranquility in Den Hague's bustling Chinatown. The cuisine was Indonesian. We briefly considered the rijstaffel but realized it would be too much for the two of us and that, given that we were on a day trip from Amsterdam, we wouldn't be able to take any leftovers home. A rijstaffel for two costs 57.50 euros for meat or vegetarian, 62.50 for seafood and involves two starters, ten main dishes, rice or noodles and dessert. We opted instead for two of the set lunches (served between noon and 3:00). My husband chose the chicken sate with agreeably spicy peanut sauce and rice; and I had the mixed plate of spicy beef, soy sauce beef, spicy mixed vegetables in coconut milk and rice. The service was prompt and pleasant, and the food was delicious.
