Taste of India deserves precisely four stars -- this is a solid Indian restaurant with a little something extra. It doesn't deliver the extraordinary excellence that earns five; not in service, atmosphere or food. But at lunch or dinner, it's consistently so very much better than the "pretty good, I guess" of a three-star. Taste of India is a spacious, comfortable restaurant that's pleasingly quiet and calm, even when there's a crowd. The decor is good; ever so slightly dated and a shade dark, but overall it comes off as pleasant and serious. You'll know you're at a real restaurant, not a brewpub, sports bar or "family friendly" noisefest. Service is prompt and efficient, and the owner/manager/hostess is remarkably friendly and hospitable. The lunch buffet is terrific because the choices change daily, and frequently feature a couple of "down menu" items that you wouldn't find at the typical buffets that focus on tikka masala and samosas. Quality at lunch or dinner is impeccable; I've never encountered a cold, listless or ill-prepared item even once. The kitchen is quite adept. You can get a good to very good vindaloo or jalfrezi dish, and trust that any menu item - even an unfamiliar one - will be prepared well. Taste of India's menu is not as adventuresome as five-star restaurants, and the execution is consistently "very good" (though rarely or never five-star level). Prices are more than fair for four-star cuisine. Perhaps the biggest "plus" to Taste of India is the consistency: Lunch or dinner, weekday or weekend or holiday, busy or slow .... these folks deliver a really good meal every time.

The food at Indigo Indian Bistro is authentic Indian food in Manchester, CT. They have a menu that will please any appetite. They offer an impressive range of gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. The service at Indigo Indian Bistro is outstanding. We never had an empty drink, our order was taken promptly, food came out quickly and accurately. We were really taken care of and felt invited to share their wonderful food and hospitality. They also offer food to take out. Indigo Indian Bistro is a fantastic place for a meal.

This is a hidden secret that is such GOOD food and really low prices. We just stopped by and were amazed at this delightful restaurant. The flavors range from mild to spicy, authentic Pakistan dishes. Easy parking lots of seating and an exceptionally good value. We will definitely go back. (Also excellent service!!!)
