We were staying in nearby Botley, but based solely on the excellent reviews and recommendations we decided to drive the extra few miles to the 'Friends Refined' - what a great decision!!!At first sight, the menu seemed quite expensive, and compared to many Indian Restaurants it was, but cost is of course only one part of the equation, and the quality and quantity more than made up for it. Taking everything into account, including ambience and service, our meal at £60 for two, including bottle of wine, was great value for money - it was a wonderful meal, selected from a varied menu. When we're next in the area, we'll certainly visit the Fiends again.

We have been here many times and never had a bad word to say. Good food and good service. Nine of us went last night and waited nearly 2 hours for our food. When it did arrive, it was either luke warm or cold. We were very disappointed.Jean S, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. Thanks for bringing this matter to our attention. We would like to get more details about this; please reach out to us at your earliest convenience at 01489 573223.

Several years ago this was considered one of the best Indians in the Fareham area. However after a couple of recent disappointing visits it would seem standards have since slipped. During our latest visit both our chicken curries were partially under-cooked and tasted bland. Furthermore my onion bhajis were dry and the naan bread was overcooked. Also, my coke was flat. Like it had been poured from a left open bottle. I'm all for cost cutting, even more so in today's tough economic climate, but come on guys, don't be cheap. At least use a fresh bottle. On a more positive note our rice was good, as were our desserts (albeit still slightly frozen!) The complimentary Baileys is always a welcome touch and the service was top draw as always. Also, they have a five star hygiene rating as of August this year, which is always reassuring. That said given the recent drop in food quality we'll be going elsewhere from now on unless standards improve. Shame.

Basmati Indian restaurant currently has branches in Locks Heath, Southampton. Petworth, West Sussex and Westergate, Chichester. Serving traditional and modern Indian Cuisine. The poultry and lamb are welfare audited and the vegetables are locally sourced.
We went early on a Monday evening and it was encouraging to see a family already eating. A large party also came in before we left. The food was very good but they didnât spice mine up as requested. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I was most impressed by this unassuming little place. Nice staff great curries and brilliant attitude. I like mine hot my partner not so much. Both beautifully catered for.

After looking at previous reviews we had high expectations. Erm, sadly no, soft poppadoms, chicken tasted like it was cooked a few days ago, it fell far short. There are far better take aways in the area, you need to be very hungry if you give this place a good review. Twice we tried it and both times they got something wrong. Those who have given this place a good review must have very low expectations, for us it fell very short Owner at Gandhi Indian TakeawayResponse PendingHi Judy, Iâm extremely sorry to hear about your experience with us and your concern with our standards. Have not been to Kuti's for some time, so very pleasantly surprised when we recently visited this restaurant. Lovely ambience and welcome, great speedy service, great food, great choice of dishes, and all at a reasonable price. Will return, hopefully sooner than before.... thankyou and I can also recommend the takeaway service as well as the dishes are equally as good!
