Reviews on Indian food in Wellingborough, England, United Kingdom. Wellingborough is a market town and borough in Northamptonshire, England, situated about 11 miles (18 km) from the county town of Northampton. The town is situated on the north side of the River Nene, most of the older town is sited on the flanks of the hills above the river's current flood plain. Due to frequent flooding by the River Nene, the town was mostly built above the current level of the flood plain. Originally named "Wendelingburgh", the settlement was established in the Saxon period and is mentioned in the Domesday Book under the name of "Wendelburie". The town was granted a royal market charter in 1201, by King John of England.

Sorry but after reading such great reviews about this Indian couldnât wait to try but such a disappointment, the korma curry was so sweet you could only taste the desiccated coconut, the onion bargee was soggy and the peshwari Nan was tasteless we found no currants etc only a bit of sweet coconut so overall a let downHi Jackie T,I am appalled seeing this review. From February until the end of June i had been away myself, I heard that there was staff shortage at this time while away and had been quite Chaotic in the Takeaway. Rest assure everything is back to normal and will be making amends. been back 2 weeks and seem to have caught up with everything.Hope to see you again and make things right. The restaurant may be small but the food is totally amazing! The flavours the chef creates are so delicious! Everything we have had from Shaan has been SO good. Try the Badami - a personal favourite of mine and my husband (although he has it hot lol) Do ya self a favour- try it!

We went with friends as it was convenient for us all to meet there. First time visit for all of us, and as soon as we walked in we were impressed with the beautiful white table linen and serviettes. The staff were very courteous and the food and drinks were wonderful. Three biriyanis and one vegetarian. The portions are big and we were pleased only to have poppadums and no starters. Two of us had ice cream desserts and we received free hot drinks. It was a great place to be to meet friends and catch up.

Decided to treat the team to a curry this evening and what an expensive and time wasting mistake that was!!! I honestly thought that the welcoming and friendly voice at the end of the phone was a good omen, however, for pennies under£30 for 3 currys 2 rice 2naans and half a bag of loose chips floating around the bottom bag, I was pretty horrified to be confronted by a korma that was fluorescent yellow and had split! It honestly looked like some wino had vomited the entire contents of their stomach! Then as I tried to stir the grease into it, my spoon got caught and fished out a 4" black hair!! Moving onto the KING prawn dansak! Well if these were kings I would hate to see the size of their prawns as these were the size of my little fingernails and in total there were six!! The curry was drowning in the juices of the huge wilted lemon that was crammed on top as some sort of garnish! The chips were dry and greasy at the same time and hate ripped through the two brown paper bags and were, it seemed trying to escape from the bottom of the plastic carrier bag in shame!! So, I called the polite young man who's tone quickly changed as soon as I explained the problems with the food! He, promptly replied that the korma only looks split because that's the way they make it!!! Realising that my complaints were falling on deaf ears I explained that if he was refusing a refund I would be letting future patrons know through TripAdvisor what my thoughts and opinions were on his restaurant! An hour later a loud obnoxious knock at the door came and a korma thrust into my hands. Then with no words, just an extended arm outstretched took the food that I was sending back! No refund! No sorry! Nothing!! I am writing this review while waiting for my frozen pizza to cook! People you have been warned!! Lol
