After completing Lord of the Rungs waterfall hike we were starving and headed to the Spice Room for dinner. What a great experience! So many gluten free/dairy free options. We had the place pretty much to ourselves because we were early diners, and the service was outstanding and the flavors amazing. You canât go wrong with any curry dish and we also tried the special which was a very unique lamb dish. The flavors were bursting through the food and we left stuffed. Highly recommend while in Wanaka!

This place is a well kept secret known only to the locals I think.....The husband (cook) and wife (front of house) run this pace very efficiently. Plenty to choose from on the menu, with some emphasis on northern Indian/Pakistan flavours, and they are very bold and ever so tasty. We ordered a vegetable main along with a Prawn dish. Rice was included and the 2 x meas were ever so tasty and refreshing too. Their naan bread was really delicious and I would recommend that. Plenty of wine choice, with a reasonable amount available by the glass at most realistic prices compared to other Wanaka restaurants.Only 8 tables (there is outdoor dining for the warmer months) so it pays to book to ensure you get served at the time of your choosing.A meal for 2 at $50!!! That is an EXCELLENT reason to visit, and the food is quite different with a wide range of flavours. Well done TEAM
