The fare at breakfast was a typical South-Indian Kitchen - not a spread to choose from. The fare is limited, too - Idli, Vada, Dosa, and similar stuff. Light, good, but limited.

About 12 to 15 kms after the Krishnagiri toll gate on Bangalore-Chennai highway . Impressive frontage, well air conditioned spacious restaurant. Attentive and courteous waiters. Terrific for breakfast ...idly dosa vada pongal idiyappam with tasty Chutneys and Sambar. Excellent filter coffee to finish.Another attraction is an interesting shop right upfront selling a huge variety of things...steel n brass vessels, implements, handicrafts, handbags, music cds, pickle jars...gosh ...you can spend half an jour stretching your tired legs after a 3 hour drive and pick up stuff.

I visited Saravana Bhavan, Vellore recently for lunch. It's a good experience. I took curd rise for lunch and it's promptly served with papad, chutney and curry! Really yummy with good service.I tried tea as well and it's good.Complimentary and covered parking available.

Soups tasty delicious, probably because they are very creamy. Just be careful with the ordering, each serving is quite large, easily suffices for two persons. We had difficulty in recognising dal, it was fully meshed and had cream so it lost its regular taste. Otherwise, food, ambience, service and location are all fine.

Mr Anand is the promoter of this Sai sangeeth hotel hailing from Thirnelveli town in south of India .He along with his 2 brothers Ramkumar and Shiv Kumar along with their cousin Amarnath started this Sai Sai Sangeeth hotel venture .They opened this highway restuarant about 6 years ago on the Bangalore Salem- Krishna Giri - Chennai highway in an idyllic location 136 kms from Bangalore with a huge hill, a part of Western ghats forming the fore front of this place well beyond the highway to the south .I have, on many occasions in the past, seen huge number of cars parked in front of this place as I used to drive past their restaurant that showed they were attracting a number of people travelling on this Bangalore Chennai highway .Most people stop at this hotel as their Pit stop for three things:1.Use of their rest room.2.Enjoy their south Indian breakfast .3.To shop in their unique boutique store that sells Indian artifacts and paintings , Organic food and organic manure .I understand they have 3 branches to their credit with their main one being, their first perhaps being located in the main Market area of Ambur town ,famous for leather business, a few kms down the same highway .If a traveler by car or any personalised transport wants to beat the morning heavy traffic on Bangalore Hosur highways , they have to leave Bangalore between 6 am 6 30 amas It's one of busiest industrial stretch and people commute to Hosur in huge volume .Today I left Bangalore with my family at 6 15 am and arrived at Sai Sangeeth restuarantv, after a couple of hours drive in time for breakfast at around 8 30 am.No sooner than we arrived my wife took off to the boutique store inside the hotel to pick up some artifacts and organic soap and Organic pulses ,Palm sugar, millets etc.The others after using the rest room went to the restaurant for Breakfast .and we ordered idli Vada and dosaand filter coffee.Frankly the Idly was okay but Vada was below par and the Sambar that was served as an accompaniment tasted well below par of a good udipi hotel .May the Thirunelveli people make sambar a little different .Their filter coffee was excellent. Their USP is of course their Dosa. It was excellent and most people were ordering just that .The cost for four people came to about Rs 600.Thats reasonable though .One thing is their toilets though adequate in number to match the flow of guests , the maintenance needs to improve and needs a permanent attender.I normally judge and rate a restuarant better , If they offer a clean and hygienic rest rooms , which reflects the point that the management cares for their guest's hygiene supreme, being public in nature. All though they seem to attract guests in large numbers to their AC restuarant, there is scope for lot of improvement in taste. Their cleaning staff must be appreciated for prompt and effecient service for keeping the restuarant clean .It's a good pit stop, if one is passing this 136 Kms point from Bangalore or from Chennai during breakfast lunch or dinner .
