A restaurant brimming with character, the space creates an energetic, engaging atmosphere. With servers as quick with a smile as they are knowledgeable about their product, The Silk Route is a clean, modern social space ready to welcome you. Situated in S
Situated two floors up and with a fantastic view of the harbour and boats - their twinkling lights at nighttime. This (Indian) restaurant mixes traditional recipes with a fusion of Mediterranean and African flavours to produce some exquisite dishes. The lobsters and sauces were perfectly cooked and served together with a delightful fish soup and naan. These washed down with not one, but two, cocktails made a perfect meal to be finished of with homemade pistachio Kulfi and, if not being too greedy, freshly made gulab jamon!!All in all a wonderful meal from the Silk Route.

What's great about this place is the owner who is a really nice lady. As for the food, I was really disappointed. the description in the lonely planet made my mouth water but it didn't live up to it at all. The fruit lassi was orange but it didn't taste any food whatsoever. The food was not bad but I have eaten far better curry elsewhere for half the price.

Krishna Food House is Multicuisine Indian Restaurant & Bar. Located in stone town Zanzibar near NBC bank. we open from morning 8 am to 10 pm everyday and we do have facility of Free home delivery within stone town.
Expected more considering the other reviews. Service was slow.Starter didn't turn up. Main courses had an oddly gluey texture and both tasted pretty similar as if the same sauce had been used with just some veg added to one. Quite pricey for what it was. Lots of other places do veg curry probably better.

Run by a Chef owner, the food is very authentic Indian. There is also a choice for continental dishes for the faint hearted. Service can be a little lead footed if the owner is not around. All in all a good night out restaurant.Delicious food and a nice Indian themed interior.

We stopped by for lunch and a drink after a city walk. Nice variation on the menu, highlighting a.o. a selection of pizzas and indian tandoori and curry dishes.Elevated terrace facing sunset in the evening, inviting for a pre-dinner drink.Next time!

My hubby and I went looking for a vegetarian restaurant in Stone Town and was not disappointed when we were steered in the direction of Joshi's! The hospitality of the charismatoc owner...Joshi ...is amazing.we learnt about the ganesha festival that was taking place the next day from joshi. We shared a full gujarati vegetarian thali between us. The portions were generous enough to have left over.Joshi also has a selection of zanzibar fusion dishes among many other Indian favourites.my highlight....the rich mango lassi.give joshi's a try...you wont be disappointed.

LOCAL FOOD at LOCAL PRICE Delicious local food in a typical local stone town building with cozy and chilling ambiance, including a variety of drinks and beverages. We also serve different types of coffees, shakes and smoothies.
The food never disappoints. My second time from my first visit in 2018.Owner is indian...the team is all sk friendly and great.Cant have high expectations its local style and you need to be flexible and easy! Example...our bread reached much earlier than the food. The bread is made fresh so much more enjoyable warm!We ordered a seafood curry and a shrimp curry dish that came with french friends. We ordered a 2 plain naan and 1 butter naan and paid 32,000tzs The shrimp curry with chips was my favorite neither was spicy but both rich in flavour in their own unique way. Simply amazing and highly recommended!!!! Dont miss this restaurant it's a must try if you're in stonetown!
