While staying in a nearby Abnb we wanted a local Indian takeaway. We were very lucky to find Elachi. Absolutely wonderful Bangladeshi/Indian food: Top tip order about half of what you want! The food was well package, ladled and ready on time. The quality was top class with 3 different main course dishes all colourful, aromatic and very tasty. What a shame they donât deliver to our home in Herts!Fully recommended and a definite place to visit the next time we are in the area.
I ordered from here half expecting typical greasy takeaway food, but it really isn't, and sits comfortably with the better quality Indian places in the Doncaster area. The food is freshly cooked, the staff polite and the prices are really good value. I would happily recommend this to anyone, not least as I didn't get that bloated and heavy feeling that I have done after other takeaways!

All Our Food is Freshly Cooked to Order. Our Chef Insists On Cooking Dishes To His Own High Standards & We Are Proud To Serve Customers Our Unique Style Of Indian Cuisine.
Five of us had booked in on saturday 12/10/19 but when we arrived at the appointed time the staff were confused and had to hurriedly put two tables together to accommodate us. The restaurant was busy but we then had to wait 20 minutes before our order was taken. When it arrived the food was good, although not as warm as it could have been. Having been there for just an hour and a half the bill suddenly appeared (without being asked for) with the message that the table was required for another party. Some of us hadn't even finished our drinks but we felt we were rushed out of the restaurant. The diminutive manager/owner said "Sorry,my love" to my wife who reacted to the insult with the riposte "I am NOT your love!"He replied with the comment "I'll make it up to you next time"....as if there will be a next time!!!The food here CAN be very good but the service ranges from polite to downright rude and patronising and people should be aware of this. The management and staff should be made aware that they are there to serve us not the other way round!
The best cauli curry ever really enjoyed could eat every day fresh cauli full of flavour friendly people and really good prices
Where to eat International food in Thorne: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Myself, my wife and a friend visited The Shapla Indian restaurant attached to the Queen Victoria pub. Although a little of the beaten track (That said it is only about 200 yards from Thorne South railway station!!) it is getting quite a reputation among the local population. I booked a table for 7-30 last Friday (14th June) . We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table and ordered our drinks and food from an extensive The ladies 2 large cokes and myself a beer (unfortunately no real ale. The manager explained that there was not enough custom to make it viable). our order was taken. 2 popadoms with a pickle tray. These arrived quite quickly. one of the pickles was rather hot to the delight of our friend. This was followed at a convenient interval by our main dishes My wife, not keen on over-hot dishes, had chicken Korma with chips (!) her friend chicken madras, lemon fried rice and chips. Having not seen it before I tried the Malayan curry with chicken (recommended by the chef). Not hot slightly warm taste with background flavours. The portions were quite large and attractively presented. We all agreed that this was among one of the best Indian meals we had tasted (in this country anyway). The staff were friendly and helpful. There were on our visit quite a few empty tables but I expect this to change. The price was (make up your own mind) very reasonable. the whole meal, drinks food etc. less than £45 for the 3 of us. Will I be back? You bet!!
The quality of the food is brilliant, every dish taste different and some of the mains are exquisit. Service is hit and miss but last time we went, for the specials evening, 5 courses £8.95 it was good. Definately worth a try.

Excellent food. Service could improve slightly . Back ground singing from pub makes it difficult to have conversation without shouting .

The service was a delightful kind of chaotic, reminding me of India. Friendly staff with some cheerful banter. Good tasty well spiced food but rather slow taking the order. Only 2 tables seated and it took an hour to get food. Cleanliness of the loo floor leaves a bit to be desired
