What a great addition to the Indian Fast Food scene in Herndon/Reston/Sterling area! Love there online ordering system and the extensive menu choices for vegetarians! We have tried Tikka Masala with Paneer as well as with Veggie Croquette, Pav Bhaji and they were all delicious. Paneer wrap did leave something to be desired. It could have used more flavor in the filling. You have to obviously try all of there sauces (AKA chutneys). Very hip decor inside, and pick up has always been fast after placing the order online.

Tamarind Indian Cuisine should be your go-to when looking for an Indian restaurant in Sterling. We're one of the best Indian restaurants located in Northern Virginia metro area and Sterling. Our restaurant is best known for its outstanding Indian cuisine,
As usual, we ordered takeout from this rebranded version of what used to be 1947. When I went to pick up my food, I was pleasantly greeted by a host on arrival, and saw something new for the first time -- other patrons in the restaurant! It had always been a bit creepy eating there, in that cavernous dining room, with only 1 or 2 other couples ... this time, there must have been 25 other people enjoying a quiet meal. It looks like they have addressed the service problem that existed under their previous management. We'll have to give dine-in another chance! The food was excellent, as always -- we recommend the butter chicken, saag paneer, and garlic naan.Hi, Thank you for your review. Appreciate it !Look forward to see you soon !!Regards,Venkat. (Owner)

Lunch buffet was ok, relatively cheap, dishes were not correctly identified, and not that great. Environment also mediocre, not pretty.

Yummy halal chicken wrap. Tasty samosas and veggie cutlets. Fast service. Friendly staff. Clean. Chicken biryani was delicious but spicy.

I have to admit that for a "fast food looking" place, the taste of the food was pretty good. The chicken biryani and the chicken kalhari were both really good. I especially love the naan/bread. It's fresh and baked to my liking. The gyro was okay. The guy who took our orders was nice and friendly. The reason why I gave this 3* is because I found a small hair in my food (my food was take out so I couldn't complain at that moment). Also, the spice/heat levels are not so accurate. I asked for regular spice on my biryani, and it was not regular. It was too spicy. Just be careful. Every dish I tried was very spicy. Also, the naan is pricy. 5 pieces for $8 is too much. Back home, each piece of naan is 60 cents.Would I go there again? Yes, if I need a quick meal and delicious naan.
