It is notable for being located near the site of the Philadelphia Folk Festival. The borough was founded in 1684, when the Lenni-Lenape Indians ceded to William Penn the land along the Perkiomen Creek; it was incorporated in 1903. The borough was named for George Schwenk, whose son, Jacob Schwenk, served in George Washington's army.

Had been on a Saturday night with family-ordered veg stuff only & did instruct the server twice about the spice level to be MEDIUM for all dishes. We ordered Baby corn Manchurian, Fried Rice,Paneer JalFrezi, roti basket along with Veg. Sizzler- Baby corn Manchurian was served first but even after a long wait, there was no sign of food. On inquiry the server told that the chef mistakenly made chicken sizzler & asked us if we would like to have it instead? Paneer JalFrezi was way too spicy even for us, let alone my 5 yr old kid. Veg. Fried rice thankfully was not spicy but not in great taste either. Wont be tempted to go again for sure!!

We had a truly amazing experience dining at Shagun last evening. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, we were treated like valued customers. Robert was kind, gracious, efficient, and helpful. Our food was off-the-charts amazing! While Iâve never had a bad meal at Shagun, tonight was exceptional. Spiced perfectly and cooked expertly...I can hardly wait to eat my leftovers! We will definitely be back soon and encourage anyone interested in a wonderful Indian meal to dine at Shagun.Thank you Jenny! It was our please to have you as guest at Shagun. Looking forward to see you again!
