Taj Mahal Restaurant

This restaurant is located opposite a park only 4 minutes walk away from our hotel in Ludwig Thoma Weg. The menu was large and exciting and the food was well cooked and served. Price was reasonable.

Shiva

Local population does not know Indian food and therefore this restaurant has an exotic appeal, but the food is really substandard and relies on frying almost all the vegetables (which is not the Indian way). Next day my partner was ill!!Avoid this restaurant.

The restaurant itself is nice enough, decorated pleasantly, and appears clean, but it still seems a bit dark and gloomy. The little ante-room at the entrance and toilets did not smell very nice, unfortunately, and were quite small. Also, the prices are a bit elevated for Mühldorf. The lunch formula (bread or salad plus a selection of main courses with rice) is affordable and recommended, even if it means the selection is a bit limited. The food was served quickly and was generally tasty. The naan bread and the korma were exceptionally nice. I was a bit disappointed by the pakoras, though, that weren't fully done in the centre, and by the lamb that did seem a bit dry.Our waiter was extremely kind and helpful, and cannot be faulted. The reason why an additional star was deducted, bringing the rating down to 3 stars, was the unprofessional handling of the payment. When we requested to pay, a different waiter (perhaps the owner?) appeared at our table and announced the amount of "60 Euros" without presenting any bill. When we requested the bill, we saw that the actual amount was 59,50 EUR. The difference is not very high, granted, but it is quite unprofessional to request payment without presentation of the bill, and to wilfully round up the amount to be paid. Therefore, make sure you request and check the bill before agreeing to any payment.
