Restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. Hard to tell there is a restaurant there unless you are traveling from the South - no signs to notice coming from the North. Food tasted good - Egg rolls crispy and food was hot. Portions were a bit small, so the price did not justify the small portions. Rice came with the entree, which was nice, but the price you pay, you are paying for the rice. Waitress was also doing bar duty, so we had to wait for a while to get our check as we wanted to leave. There were not too many people there for a Saturday lunch. Price is a bit expensive, in my opinion. Not sure if I would go again unless I have some money to burn.

Wow. If you are looking for a very yummy inexpensive meal, head here now! We ordered the thali (right now they are featuring a limited soft opening menu) and the thali had a bit of everything, all of it good. We had a pappadum and an onion pakora, which was onion mixed with besan and spices and then fried. Chana dal, Chole and paneer sabjee, fresh chapati, salad, rice and gulub jaman made up the rest of the thali. This is truly food like my husbands North Indian mother makes, fresh, little cream added, and entirely vegetarian. The chapatis were amazing, warm, soft and perfect for scooping up the dishes.The restaurant itself is very casual with several tables set among the Indian groceries and fresh produce and a pharmacy thatâs not open yet. Outside is a large selection of plants for sale. The restaurant is run by a family and we had the pleasure of chatting with two of the sons while Mom cooked. What a great addition to the san ramon dining scene.

I was thrilled when I saw the San Francisco Chronicle of The Salt in San Ramon. Tri-Valley Area restaurants rarely get the attention of the Chronicle and The Salt deserves it. The chef has taken favorite America foods like pulled pork and roasted brussel sprounts and enhanced them with Indian spices.When we were ordering my husband wanted the onion rings, but I held my ground that I wanted the brussel sprouts and he ended up liking the brussel sprouts better than the onion rings. My spouse is not usually a big fan of green vegetables! I loved the brussel sprouts too and wished my husband had not gobbled down so many of them.We shared the pulled pork and the lambchops. I loved the pulled pork and my husband liked the lambchops better. The naan is wonderful. Since I was driving, I wanted to sample a cocktail and a little wine, but not have too much. They volunteered to split the wine between two glasses and I sipped a few tastes of my husband's cocktail.

I committed a random act of dining and stopped in for their lunch buffet. Pleasantly surprised as to the overall experience.Food was very fresh and loaded with flavor and the place was exceedingly clean and organized. Very staff completed a pleasant lunch experience.

Wanted some Indian cuisine while traveling in the area on business. Went to Favorite with two colleagues. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything was quite flavorful. Also had a good wine list which is not always the case with Indian restaurants. If I lived in the area I would probably go back regularly.
