Reviews on Indian food in Roches Noire, Riviere du Rempart District, Mauritius including Sunshine Fusion, Amari By Vineet, Lux Belle Mare, Seasons Restaurant & Bar, Symon's Restaurant, Kesar Indian Restaurant, Thali Express
We provide the best indian food..
This family-run restaurant is a real find and I would definitely recommend it. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. I couldn't manage all of my food so they kindly packaged the leftovers up for me. The service was fantastic and made me feel really at home. I was impressed at the number of vegetarian options and my paneer butter masala was as good as any I've eaten in India. I went for dinner but they do thalis if you're there at lunchtime. I'm hoping to fit in a second visit before I head home!

I was there today for lunch and can't stop praising this restaurant for its outstanding restaurant and mouth-watering food.We tried the veg pakora, the veg Manchurian, the dhal makhani, the bindi, the mushroom curry and they were all so delicious. The garlic naand was exceptional. My friend could not stop thanking me for bringing her there. We are both familiar to dining outside particularly in hotels and restaurants of all ranges. We don't find such good Indian food in hotels around the east coast. The mango Lassi to end with was a contemplation. We shall be back after navrathri to try the non veg items. To the service guys, you made us feel special. Unfortunately they don't have badges, I don't know their names but they were all skilful and knowledgeable Waiters with a prompt and timely service. I did mention it to the manager Mr Fokeena that I was tempted to make them a job offer. It is rare to find dedicated service Waiters nowadays and very often restaurants fail only because service does not make justice to the good food. My experience of Keshar restaurant was totally different. Both food and service were great. Bravo to the chef and the Waiters.Price wise, the items are reasonable. In the range of Rs 150 to Rs 200 for starters and between Rs 200 to Rs 300 for the mains.Portion wise, one portion easily feeds 3 or 4 persons. Hence, very value for money when in a group. If you are alone or a couple, don't order too much.As end note, do visit Keshar Flacq if you are looking for a convenient restaurant serving Indian food. Good for British tourists, Indian tourists and us locals

SEASONS RESTAURANT & BAR is a stylish restaurant providing comfortable dining in smart and relaxing surroundings. This gastronomical adventure offers authentic Mauritian and Oriental cuisine, with a mix of European dishes
We have just had dinner at seasons and it was by far the best meal since we got here. We are staying at the Ambre Hotel and itâs all inclusive and is directly across the road but after reading the reviews we decided to give seasons a go. We are so glad we did. Food was outstanding and the staff were brilliant. If you are looking for a meal which is made from fresh, local, quality ingredients then go here. My partner had the fillet steak and it was unbelievable value and cooked exactly as heâs asked for. We were also given some fantastic veggie samosas as we were waiting for our starters. If you are in Belle Mare you have to go! I can not recommend this place highly enough.

So, this is just the Cafe Lux part of my review of the Lux Belle Mare hotel (separate entry for that). We spent a fair amount of time here and the quality of the drinks, service and atmosphere certainly warrant an individual mention in my book. The Cafe is the only hotel on Mauritius who roast (and therefore blend) their own coffee beans. They run two roasting demo sessions and two coffee tasting sessions each week. I would thoroughly recommend making a bit of time to try and go to both!During our tasting session, we were introduced to a variety of different beans and preparations. From the standard hot "pour over" coffees to the cold filters and the Nitro coffee (nitrogen gas infused - pours out like a draught beer!). The barista going through this all was entertaining, professional and patient with us as he went through the different tastes and the deeper flavours available. We also loved the roasting demo as well, the smells of the freshly roasted coffee was amazing and something we will long remember. We've taken a fair chunk of beans with us home and fully intend on trying to re-create some of the magic. They're open pretty much all day and I would recommend you picking up a coffee (of what ever you fancy) en-route to breakfast (they do takeaway cups too) and drink it there. They do use the same beans at the hotel restaurants but take it from us, the cafe coffee definitely tastes better and it'll be worth your little detour each morning.Special mentions have to go to Yashveer and Bilall who were both amazing. They made the whole experience so enjoyable we couldn't help but migrate to the cafe each day! Their combination of knowledge, enthusiasm and overall affable nature have really defined our stay. Thank you guys for everything!

Elegant decor and subtle taste explosions from the moment you start, this is a great, if relatively expensive place to dine. The staff, including the Manager, Roopesh and our waiter Vishal, were the epitome of service. So in a nutshell? Really, really good food, fabulous service and a beautiful setting. What more could you want?
