Find out what Indian restaurants to try in New Castle. New Castle, Delaware, "the first capital of the first state," was founded in 1651. Having been home to Native Americans, the Dutch, and the British, New Castle truly is a "uniquely American place." The Amstel House is a Georgian mansion dating back to 1730. The Dutch House has survived from an even earlier period, featuring furnishings from the 17th century. With ancient graveyards, town greens, old churches and traditional English gardens, New Castle brings history alive.

Amazing food joint. We first discovered this place almost 2years, since then the taste, quality of service unquestionably brilliant. If your taste buds are eager for a spicy Indian food, then this restaurant is a must visit. Thereâs nothing equally as good as this one in NJ-NY-DE area.

I visited India Palace around 7:30pm on a Tuesday evening. When I entered I realized I was the only customer, and a woman, one of the owners, asked me to take a seat wherever I wanted. I took a seat in a booth and told her Iâd studied the menu online and was ready to order. She brought me a menu nonetheless, and although I quickly browsed it just to be sure, I ordered what Iâd decided online. I asked for a Kingfisher bottled beer (22 oz. or 650ml, the âbigâ size), vegetable samosas, garlic naan bread, and Bhindi Masala (my favorite Indian dish). Shortly thereafter, the woman brought me the beer and some papadum with three sauces â a spicy green chutney, tamarind sauce, and a spicy onion mix (see picture). I enjoyed the papadum, trying all three sauces â I especially liked the onion mix, but the tamarind and spicy chutney were also good. A little later she brought out the vegetable samosas, and although filled with peas and potatoes (see picture), they were a little drier than Iâm used to, but when I added the sauces to the bites it made things better. The Bhindi Masala (okra cooked with onions) came out with a separate dish of rice, and I heaped everything on a plate (see picture). My initial bites seemed a little dry, but once I got going the flavors came out. The woman told me that itâs a northern Indian, family-style version of the dish, which tends to be drier than the southern Indian version that has more sauce. A little later the garlic naan bread came out (see picture) and eating it along with the remaining okra made a great combination. My waitress visited at good intervals, offering more water. We also chatted at the end of my visit and I learned sheâs from the Punjab in India â we talked about the languages spoken there and a little about her experience in America for the past several decades. Iâd rate this as a very good dinner, with the main items keeping it from being excellent the drier-than-expected Samosas and the Bhindi Masala a little drier than I prefer. However, Iâd like to return to try some of the many other dishes; this was a very good experience!
