Find out what Indian restaurants to try in Mysuru (Mysore). The kings of the Wodeyar dynasty set the bar high for the southern cultural capital of Mysore. Ornate palaces and the Gothic St. Philomena's Church with its 175-foot spires pack a visual punch; local institutions keep Carnatic classical music and dance in the public eye. A prominent 11th-century temple sits atop 1,000 steps on the city's outskirts. Dress to the nines and party like a rock star in celebration of Mysore heritage during the lively Dussehra festival, held for 10 days in October/November.

I'd been hearing of this place for ages and finally decided to pay a visit. While their dosas are tasty, the restaurant is totally lacking in other merits. It is cramped, dingy and has poor service. You may have to stand waiting for quite a while just to get a seat. Not recommended for families.

Visited this place on our last visit to Mysore. Its a small restuarant and we found it extremely crowded on the Sunday morning. We had to wait for around half an hour before getting a table. However the wait was worth the while. They served soft yummy dosas and idlis with white chutney. Totally fulfilling.

Real Taste for Real Foodie. Indian and Chinese food. Located near suburban bus stand, Five light circle on Bangalore Nilgiri Road.
How did this become top pick??? Manipulation of some sort!!!!A reminder, read and believe the bad reviews. We visited this restaurant reading only the good reviews. Mistake.I broke the first two rules...eat where the locals eat and clean bathrooms. The men's bathroom was out of order and the women's bathroom was gross. There were no locals...only a few tourists who believed the reviews. The food...well...come morning, my wife was nauseous and I was vomiting.Enough said.Read and believe the bad reviews for all restaurants regardless of where they are located.

We were so happy to have found this very small restaurant a short tuk-tuk ride from our Mysore hotel; so happy that we ate 3 out of 4 of our dinners in Mysore there. The menu is varied - easy for anyone (vegan, veg or meat eater in need of a change of pace) to find interesting and healthfully prepared dishes. We tried their veg thali, a pizza and pasta dish and all three were delicious. Our drinks were also great. Prices were reasonable for what you get. Highly recommend.

LaUppu is a multi-cuisine restaurant which is open round the clock and serves an eclectic mix of global cuisine with a dash of some local delicacies.
We had multiple meals from Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at the La Uppu. The variety of food was both a good mixture of South Indian local and Indian foods. The food quality, presentation and service was top notch. The local dishes like Idli, sambar, cutnery/s, dosa, upma, poha...etc are worth tasting.
