Namak - the Indian Specialty restaurant exudes the contemporary food, super luxe ambience which takes the discerning taste buds on a delectable treat. With a menu reminiscent of the Royal Kitchens of India, the culinary delights on offer create magic with
ONE LINE TAGLINE â Enchanting Curries n more!Hotel Sahara Star â Symbolic with exemplary hospitality, oozing ambience and outstanding food. Our recent trip to their restaurant âNamakâ was surely a milestone moment for offering upscale Indian food. Interiors:An inspiring Indian space, full of textures, and with an exotic sight that bespoke the rich, cultural heritage of India. Namak wins brownie points for offering the ideal proposal to test an authentic experience around the Indian Haute cuisine. It is not just the décor that sets Namak apart. The food is extremely rich, with a sauce laden Lucknowi, Awadi menu being the prime focus. Flavours rule high even if in subtle doses. Hereâs what we tried and tested:Starters:Tandoori jhinga kalimirch â Perfect marination. One aspect that could have been done better was to remove the chargrilled portions before serving. The king-size prawns could have been cooked a bit more.Murgh malai kebab â Chunky soft pieces of chicken, almost creamy yet low on spices. Went well with the array of chutneys provided with the shakkar para.Gosht awadi seekh â Succulent, less on the juicy bit but surely wholesome with a good dose of saffron and spearmint.Main Course: Tariwali macchi â Although a tomato gravy base, the tanginess is not sharp which went in favour of the rich textures. The degi mirch and tinge of mustard added an unusual burst on flavour front.Ambade ka murgh â Roasted chicken with ambade (Gongura) leaves in thick gravy was something new which one must try.Gosht banjara â Low on the spice element but soft, succulent mutton pieces blended well with the special Andhra ingredients.Thikhri dal makhni â Very unlike the usual dal makhni you are served. Yet it had the punch and slurp-it-up effect. Desserts:Malai kulfi - perfectGulab jamun â delish! The mocktails were lilting perfect. Chef Darshan personally ensured to enquire about our taste levels. Server Lakshman was service personified and always available to help out.Word of caution â portion sizes served are quite large. Order effectively since the meal is quite rich and heavy. Dear Esteemed Guest,Greetings from Hotel Sahara Star!!We thank you for choosing Namak - Our Signature Indian Restaurant as your preferred meal destination in Mumbai and our endeavor is to provide all our guests a memorable experience. We are pleased to receive such inspiring words from you which have further encouraged our entire team to provide enhanced services to all our esteemed guests. We once again take this opportunity to thank you for your valuable feedback and look forward to welcome you to Sahara Star in the near future.Warm Regards & Sahara Pranam,Amit Ganpuley,Food and Beverage Manager

Nawab Saheb serves authentic cuisine inspired from royal kitchens of India, offering an ambience perfect for dining that is stylish, elegant and homely. The unique pre-set menu offering enables service to be warm, friendly and pampering.
Nawaab Saheb Nawaab Saheb is located in Renaissance, Powai which is at a beautiful location besides the Powai Lake. The entire atmosphere around Nawaab Saheb is classy and eye-appealing. Once you enter Nawaab saheb,it is all about a royal ambience and a royal experience. The seating is very comfortable. The entire setup is extremely beautiful. The table is well-set and the lights complement the ambience and set-up. When it comes to service, they are attentive and guide you well with their menu.We visited during their 'Tawa and Tandoor' fest. They had three sets of menu and we opted for 'Royal Menu'. We started with beverages and I tired 'Spicy Guava Mocktail'.It was perfectly made mocktail with right amount of spice that complemented well with the guava base.I also had a cranberry based drink which was extremely refreshing. In appetizers, they served us a platter which contained paneer starter, veg seekh kebab and galouti kebab. The paneer was soft and fresh and had a sweet spicy marinade which tasted delicious. The seekh kebab were spicy kebab full of vegetables. The galouti kebabs were served in a presentable way and were quite juicy. Then there were a range of non-veg starters that they served from a Tawa. There were a few chicken tandoor dishes that had Lucknowi and Mughlai touch. The tawa also had sea-food.They had prawns stuffed with chese, then there was fried fish and also lobster. In main course,we had Chicken gravy,Dal makhni and Paneer Gravy with naans. We also tried Lamb Biryani. The maincourse was equally delicious. They had perfect dessert set up and had a dessert buffet. It was heaven for the sweet-tooths.They had all kind of desserts placed there from kaju katli to gulab jamun to Akrod ka Halwa. It was a pleasant experience visiting this place.Ambience: 4.5/5Service: 4/5Food: 4/5

Manuhaar is the Rajasthani and Gujarati themed restaurant within the very beautiful Sahara Star. The place is done up with paintings depicting the Rajasthani and the Gujarati culture. The staff is oh-so polite and truly exude the mehmaan nawaazi that the Rajasthanis and the Gujaratis are known for.I had their Gujarati thaali that has like, a million items! They first serve chaas and a sweet drink, along with sweet items like halwa, true to Gujarati sweets-first style! Then comes dhokla, mini samosas, daal bati churma and and many more. I was already feeling a bit full when they loaded my thaali with rotis, a lot of sabzis, daal, a bit of khichdi. There were a bowl full if khichiya papad, salad, ghee, achaars and so many condiments. I was so full that I couldn't even look at them anymore. And the staff kept asking if we needed anything else. They really made me feel like I came to some relative's place where they just wouldn't stop feeding more food! That's the kind of homely hospitality that makes Manuhaar stand out from the rest!I absolutely enjoyed each and every item on the thaali, and couldn't find any negative anywhere. The chef came to meet me during my dinner and he was so humble in his demeanor.Overall, it was an absolutely fantastic experience, and to think that the thaali is priced at Rs 1550, I think it is a steal deal.

A Vintage vibe that makes you reminisce, and mouth-watering food that you just can't miss! Explore the lovely combination of food & drinks @ Cafe Free India, Lower Parel
Introduction Imagine walking down memory lane, and sipping on a cuppa of chai, in a typical café back in the 1940âs. The unpretentious furniture comprises of cane chairs, and marble topped tables. The vibe is inviting, and the café comes alive with light-hearted banter. Inspirational branches Café Free India, seeks inspiration from the Indian Freedom Movement. The eatery is comfortable nestled in the vicinity of Lower Parel. They also have a branch in Bandra, and hope to inaugurate just another in Andheri, post the 2019 monsoon. The Vintage bits The Lower Parel property is leased on a premise that is over 50 years old. The property once catered to a famous Dairy. The café is managed and created by Rich Roche Hospitality, which is owned by Sachin Roche and his wife, Dr. Richa Agarwal. The décor comes alive with industrial furniture, which explores a different narrative of the bygone era. Sachin and Richa, strive hard at rendering the old-world charm to the café, which in a way imparts itâs own authentic flavour. Elements like marble tabletops, cane chairs, and switchboards from the 1940âs add to the charismatic appeal. Café Free India employs a warm and understanding staff. Theyâre quick on a heel, and serve patrons with due promptness. The crowd Invigorating aromas from the kitchen unfailingly lure patrons to try their simple, yet refreshing creations. It is interesting to learn how some of them keep coming back from time to time. The café is strategically located in the corporate area, luring office-goers. Family and friends frequent the place, on weekends. Take on TASTY The food reviews have been fantastic. I have shamelessly found myself binging on a number of things. Some of most famous delicacies include lip-smacking burgers, such as the âSouthern Fried Cottage Cheese Burgerâ, âThe Bombay Bâurger (that comes with a freshly prepared beetroot patty), the yummy âLouisiana Crab Burgerâ, the âCrispy Chilli Prawn Burgerâ, juicy âLucy Lamb Burgerâ and many more. The Café Free India team doesnât believe in stocking on frozen burger patties. Their burgers are made to order. Patron rave over their burgers stating, that the patty has a crispy outer and the meats and vegetables are all juicy and fresh. Some of the other specialities include the âFrench Onion Soupâ, âThukpaâ, âAsian Pot Curryâ, âSpaghetti and Meatballsâ, and a delicious array of thin crust pizzas. The bar concocts an interesting number of signature cocktails and some of the regular favourites as well. The city-inspired cocktails include, âBombay Greenâ, âQueens Necklaceâ, âBombay 13â, âVeerappanâ, âKaali Peeliâ and more. The prices are reasonable, encouraging people o keep coming back. End Note All in all, going to Café Free India is like taking a walk down memory lane. A must visit.
