A must when we visit Montreal. A relatively easy walk from Place des Arts. This particular visit was made extra special when I was invited by the Sir to the kitchen to have a look at their authentic tandoor oven. Installed when the restaurant opened in 1984 it is a real clay oven that had a few inches of very hot charcoal in the bottom. Sitting beside it were portions of naan dough ready to be slammed against the wall. There is nothing like the char created by a well loved 35 year old tandoor. Modern gas fired/ceramic ovens are OK but it's like comparing oven roasting to authentic BBQ.But don't just come for the bread. We have never had a bad dish here. In fact my other half commented and I agree that this was the best Aloo Ghobi we have ever consumed. The family and staff are ready to guide you through the extensive menu and know that it will all be expertly prepared.
