Things to do in Midsomer Norton
Not a lot of people know this, there are a few, but not many, true Indian restaurants in Britain, almost all of them are Bangladeshi - this place is also Bangladeshi.Formerly Saffron, the establishment is under new ownership, new management and a new name. Unimaginatively called Taj Mahal (how many Taj Mahal's must there be in Britain?) although trading very much under the same conditions as before - no alcohol served, but not minding you bringing your own. Beer, wine and spirits, they will willingly open for you without scruple or corkage. There's a definite upgrade in the menu options and this probably matches the rumour that the chef has been poached from the renowned Bath based Rajpoot restaurant - if so, an asset indeed. There's been a cosmetic paint-job inside, although the layout is much the same.A no frills establishment on the main street of this enlarged village serving good sub-continent cuisine at an acceptable cost.Worth more than one visit.

Tried this Restaurant last week. The service was immaculate with multiple waiters attending to ensure I was taken care of. The restaurant had no issues with my 1 hour wait for my friend who ended up having to cancel due to work-related issues. The food was extremely tasty and the flavors seemed to blend very well together. The Special Dishes are so unique i doubt any other Indian restaurant serves and the way they presented my Lamb Shank in a plate was GREAT!! The extensive drinks menu was excellent. The ambiance is soft and not too noisy which allows for intimate conversations. Highly recommended!

Such a huge improvement - theyâve worked really hard to sort out delivery issues and the food quality, quantity and taste is really good.
Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant and takeaway, and home delivery. Taking large bookings. Catering available.
So this place had been open a week when we visited last Friday.Reception / take away counter was busy to many customers not enough staff as the phone was constantly ringing and the queue was getting longer. However after about 5 mins we were seated at the table. It's a bring your own alcohol restaurant so were given glasses almost immediately and soft drink order was taken.Food ordered. Came out in a reasonable time served by the only waiter (very busy but very friendly and attentive).Food tasted lovely and fresh with good sized portions.Keema Naan was exceptional. So food was delicious hot and very tasty.Coffe was not good but was taken off the bill as neither of us drunk it.Waiter said a new coffee brand will be sorted out very soon.So I would recommend this lovely restaurant will be going back very soon.

The Mint Room, is a multi award-winning fine dining Indian restaurant located in the beautiful, historic city of Bath...
This is a very rare fully decorated restaurant and you can have a conversation at your table without everyone listening in!The service was excellent and the food was even better!Great Indian restaurant just a stones throw from the city centre and even better if you are staying over at the Holiday Inn Express as it is straight across! the roadEnjoy
Lovely relaxing restaurant with very nice food.. can be a bit too spicy sometimes but very enjoyable.Love the noodle main dish.

We've been an occasional tale-out customer for quite some time, more recently the food hasn't been so good. Hard to put my finger on the problem but it's certainly less enjoyable. Meat quality seems to have suffered, last visit the chicken tasted cheap and was a little off-putting.I've recently found out that they've recently achieved a zero food hygiene rating. On that basis we won't be returning - sorry Spice Dunes

Having tried a few Indian take outs this is not on our list. Not much to say about it really just does not match up to the others

Firstly, I have to say the food was really nice. Unfortunately the waiter (jeans and T shirt so not entirely sure) was not there to greet us when we arrived, another customer had to go and find him. We ordered some popadoms but once finished the used dishes sat there for over 10 minutes with no collection. Up to this point no drinks had been offered (you have to bring your own alcohol) but my partner wanted a coke. Once the meal had been eaten, we waited for at least another 10 minutes with no sight of the waiter so ended up going into the take away to pay. The waiter seemed to be running that too. It is a real shame, such nice food at a reasonable price could earning them much more (in tips if nothing else) but the lack of service was a real let down.In addition the kitchen hatch and the door to the loos was filthy where hands touch it.
