Provides Indian Veg Dishes.
I visited this restaurant along with my friend Mr Kuber Padiyar in the morning of 24/08/2018 especially to have taste of traditional Kotte Idlis on advice of Ms Pai who tweeted about it on her tweeter handle some time back. Really, the taste of Kotte was superb! Actually, the batter for this kind of Idlis is the same but here it is steamed under the seal cover of pine leaves. It is usually served with coconut chutni and toor dal. I preferred to have normal Saambhar in stead of toor dal. One must try it if one happens to be in Mangalore.

A pedestrian lunch. Was hoping for a delightful Mangalorian thali. Had rice with sambar and curd only. Except for sweet every other accompaniment was 'chalu' (just passe). Taxi chap took me there. It was a wrong decision. Try some where else for a lunch with character.

This place is one of the best fine dining options for vegetarians in Mangalore, located in The Ocean Pearl. The pricing is on the higher side, but the food is very good, ambience is serene and cleanliness is high. It is suitable for all types and occasions, be it with family, friends or colleagues. All types of food, ranging from South Indian to Intercontinental is available here. All in all, it is value for money.

Make no bones about it...Narayana is a local fish meal joint located in the port area. It serves simple homely fish & thick rice meals. No elaborate menu...Just 3-4 dishes. No credit card. Pl. carry cash. The fried fish options are mostly two...King fish or Bangda. Served with their unique red masala which adds a hell lot of flavour to the thick boiled rice. Saatvik food I am tempted to say.For dinner I suggest you reach before 9 pm. The fish gets over....

Giri manja attracts rave reviews but we had a different experience. I suspect the rice which is their unlimited offering, was mixed with soda to limit consumption by means of making you feel bloated with very little quantity. I had a very familiar and uneasy feeling that comes with eating at such restaurants that try to cut corners to save cost. In the interest of reputation they enjoy which would have taken decades to build, they should be careful not to succumb to such short term thinking if they really mixed soda with rice that day.
