I'm still looking for that knockout indian restaurant and i'm afraid to say that this one didn't live up to it's billing. Don't get me wrong , food is average to good, service the same and pricewise it's very reasonable ....it just isn't all that memorable.

I came here on Friday night I was the only one in the Restaurant. The phone was busy for take away orderes and people were coming in to place orders too.I ordered from the early bird menu which runs until 9pm on Friday â¬18.95 for two courses not sure what the three course was! I ordered a bottle of Cobra and it took forever to be brought over considering I was the only person in the restaurant, I didn't get it!I ordered chicken for my starter it is pictured below the salad was pitiful icebery lettuce leaves and soggy tomato. The chicken tasted as if it was cooked the day before and then was microwaved too long. I didn't complain just ate it and hoped course two would be better. The dish arrived and looked promising I ordered a Bhuna it was extremely bland tasted of nothing I had two spoonfuls and I called the waiter over he took it back and asked if I'd like something else I probably should have just left at that point but I was tired and hungry. He suggested I get a Balti so I did and was extremely apologetic. My balti arrived it was a little bit better. The staff were lovely and very helpful. If I am honest it is not value for money as the starter was pathetic. I wouldn't dine here again. It has awards on the wall outside but not sure what was going on was it a new chef, were they down staff or what.Value for money if the food was good its great value, but the food I got was not worth â¬18.95.It would be able to take a group it is a big restaurant. Maybe for an event. But the food was a let down.On a date I would not be impressed.

I ate here alone and felt lovely and comfortable. Cauliflower is one of my favourite foods and their cauliflower pea dish was superb.... Cooked to perfection. Also had really lovely lamb. The waiter was nice and I felt he gave perfect service, just attentive enough... Poor young lad, turns out he was Lewis of the previous bad review here!!! I only found out when i was paying and I told him I would write a good review on trip advisor... He went mortified and said good because he had a bad review that he needed to turn around! I feigned innocence (even tho I had read it) ... He said that just after he had started he was overly eager and didn't realise he was over doing it!!! I found him to be perfect... And, the food was possibly the best Indian I have had in years... The best in Ireland so far... Thank you, I will be back.

Authentic Indian restaurant in Thomastown, Kilkenny
Travelling around Ireland from Wales with two Dutch friends ,came across this restaurant by chance. The food compared favourably with restaurants where we live near Cardiff with a vast choice . The waiter was exceptionally pleasant. Very helpful with accommodating our choice of food . A real gem and a pleasurable evening . Not too expensive would recommend it to locals to try and anyone passing through to stop off there for food .

We picked this place without having read any reviews, but were very happy we walked in.We were the only people in there, so got their full attention. We ordered the early bird menu - starter, main, rice. We had samosas to start, then chicken and veg curries for main, with rice, plus I ordered a peshwari naan to share. Plus soft drinks (they don't sell any alcohol anyway). The food was absolutely amazing. We spent a week in Ireland and this was hands down the best meal we had. We'd also been to a much higher ranked Indian restaurant in KK the night after, but it was nowhere near as good as here.
