Things to do in Hassan
On a visit to Hassan, thought will try Meridian... not a good experiencePicked up the following...1. Rotis - got reheated(microwaved) rotis which made it very difficult to chew2. Tandoori chicken - served hot but found it difficult to chew (probably water content was totally lost after continuous exposure to heat)3. Dal fry - Specially requested for "less spice" but had a liberal dose of finely chopped green chillies4. Curd rice - expected simple curd rice -->got one with full of chopped green chillies & raw onionI tried to settle the bill and the guy asks for my PIN(?), then mutters that the machine has a problem with credit cards.

For travellers travelling to Chikamagalur district and towards Mangalore, getting quality vegetarian food in a decent and hygienic ambience was a challenge for the past few years. Recently started Swaad Restaurant in Hotel RAAMA, provides reasonably priced quality and tasty food in an excellent and clean ambience. The Swaad Restaurant is located right opposite to Dharmasthala Ayurvedic college and hospital on the main road. Ample parking space is available. The Swaad restaurant proviodes south indian, north indian food along with chats. Staff is courteous.

A Multi-Cuisine A-La-Carte Restaurant at Lobby Level Centrally Air conditioned, Opens for Lunch, Snacks and Dinner
We were travel weary, with a rather sick teenager and younger child who is a fussy eater. My husband, who does his research thoroughly, decided on Shantala for a meal stop on our way back to Mysore from Halebidu. What a good decision.I just loved the fare offered on the menu for its variety and its different approach to food--for example, I had a delectable main course of roast potatoes with delicate herbs that also included carrots. Before confirming my order, the steward explained to me that this dish wasn't prepared with baby potatoes--that was thoughtful and unexpected. I loved every morsel of the delicious dish, and the generous portion gave my companions a chance to taste some of it. Because I didn't expect the sumptuous serving, I also ended up ordering a pineapple and pasta salad as a starter. I overate but so what? It isn't every day that I enjoy such delicate tastes and quality ingredients in restaurants. Actually, the meal has been so memorable that I have every intention of staying over at Hotel Ashhok someday soon on another visit to Halebidu, a favourite historical site, to enjoy the quiet and eat some great food.Dear Mr. KamalGreetings of the day!!!Thank you very much for your valuable feedback, It means a lot to us!We feel extremely satisfied to learn that you were happy with our Food and Beverage Services during your meal with us; appreciate your effort of communicating it back to us. This place never disappoints. Always with a table to seat you and with ample place to park your car. I would recommend the South Indian meal, which is always tasty, filling and total value for money. And this must be a highway restaurant with the cleanest restrooms in all of India. Full marks to these guys.

Parijata is inside a hotel Mallige Residency. They have a good parking facility. The restaurant serves north Indian, south Indian and Chinese food. You have an AC, non AC and open to sky sitting option. Eat once lunch and once dinner as we were staying there. The ambiance is ok, food is edible, being served fast, nothing  special to mention. The staff always has a bland and bored face. It is a budget restaurant. Average cost was around Rs 175.

The Hoysala Village Restaurant is located in the Hoysala Village resort where we stayed for two days. Their buffet lunch spread is very good with many traditional dishes of Karnataka like Ragi Mudde which very few restaurants serve. We found that the restaurant is also very popular with tourists and travelers as during lunch it was almost at full seating capacity. Service was quick and courteous.
