I was visiting Gujo-Hachiman without a plan or even an idea for lunch. After hours of walking thru the streets of Gujo I found myself in front of this restaurant. My first thought was: "You are in Japan. Why go for indian food?". The second thought was "Why not?". This second thought was one of the best decissions of this day. I ordered some mild curry. The green color (spinach?) was a little bit unusual for me. But it was tasty. So tasty. I Instantly regret that I decided for a single item menu.The restaurant itself looks a little bit like an izakaya. There is a counter the provides some seats and there is an area with tatami mats. The even have indian beer. The staff was polite and spoke English. Sometimes the communication barrier is a problem in smaller restaurants (specially if you don't speak Japanese and English is not your your native language). Not here.If I remember correct, there was a "halal" note on the menu. I am not sure if this is valid for all menus. Please ask the staff for more details. I am not muslim myself, so I didn't asked.To sumit up: If you are in Gujo-Hachiman and you don't want to eat sushi or ramen again, try out this little indian restaurant. It is only a few meter away from the tourist information at the bridge.

お昼のランチに行ったのですが、日替わりランチに付いていたナンがとても大きくて食べ応えがあって、なかなかお得感がありました。

こんなところにもインド料理が。。。と思い、地元料理を選択せずインド料理を食べに来ました。数人はネパール人です。いろいろセットがありますが、タンドリーチキンが小さかったので残念。やはり競争がない分、都市部のインド料理のレベルが高いように思えました。地震復興の募金もしていましたので、私もしてきました。なお、ここは10時まで開いていますので遅くなってしまったあなたも料理にありつけます。
