We visited early one Fridayevdningeith the restaurant being around half full but withwhstloomed to bea full complement of waiters, we ordered and received both drinks and poppadums with none of the waiters appearing to be interested in taking orders for food. After being in the place for around an hour a more mature suited gentlemen ( may be the owner ) came in and kicked the waiters into gear with himself immediately taking our order. When the food arrived one of the dishes came with a side salad which had serving tong neatly placed on the top of it, when putting the dish on the table the serving tong dropped onto the floor, the "helpful waiter" picked it up and replaced it onto the salad, needless to say it did not get eaten. The food served was very good, we did in addition take out a couple of special banana ice creams which were excellent. All in all an average experience through poor service......mr suited man, you need to be on site to drive the standards if you want to make the restaurant a success.

Welcome to Cumin Lounge, the finest Indian / Asian Restaurant where our friendly and caring team take pride in introducing our European friends to the cuisine of the Indian sub-continent. We take Pride in our Food & Service.
Went to Cumin Lounge with children and grandchildren. The welcome was warm, the service courteous and efficient, the food was exceptionally good with nothing left on the plates. Itâs difficult to highlight anything on the menu as everyone said their choice was perfect so itâs as good as you get!

First Sunday buffet after refurbishment. Wednesdayâs teething problems have been sorted out and although busy everyone was served effectively. Staff have returned to their system of serving popadoms, starters, rice and naan to the table and then asking your group and collect your main course from the buffet. Popadoms were served with six different chutneys, including a very nice garlic chutney and plum chutney (both of which I have only had before at the more upmarket Mumtaz in Bradford). Starters were freshly cooked, small portions of a variety of types - crispy but not greasy. There was a great variety of mains including a fish curry and a vegetable and paneer curry. The lamb was beautifully cooked. There were three choices of chicken and three vegetable dishes. This is a small restaurant so manoeuvring is never going to be easy but the removal of the platform has made the space more flexible and movement a little easier. The interior has been smartened and the new crockery and cutlery add a stylish touch. The Sunday and Wednesday night buffet is exceptional value at £11.95 but a la carte prices are also very reasonable especially as you can take your own beer or wine.Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Glad to see Massala Hut open again, canât believe that the food is now even better.

Having tried other Indian restaurants in the area we decided to try this one.The food was very average and normally staff at Indian restuarants are friendly. Not these - not helpful. We would not visit again.

Decided to go here for a takeaway, having seen positive reviews and looking to try a new Indian restaurant. However, it was very disappointing. My lamb tikka nawabi Khana and my partners chicken rogan Josh were bland and particularly mine was lacking meat. Wonât be back

We love visiting Sylhety Balti, our family have been doing so for 14 years now. We have spent many an evening celebrating birthdays and anniversaries here, its an ideal place to get together with family and friends. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for these guys. They are very family friendly, its my childrens favourite restaurant! The food is delicious and so tasty, the portions sizes are generous. The prices are very reasonable too.We like the fact that you can bring your own beer and wine as this definitely helps keep the cost down. You cannot fault this Indian restaurant, the staff, food and atmosphere are excellent. They obviously work so hard to make this place successful. We will be visiting again soon!

My partner and I regularly eat here and it has always been wonderful.Service is quick, food very tasty, staff very friendly and lovely atmosphere.Tucked away at back of the Newmarket pub it could be easily missed if you are not familiar with area.Onion bargis are delicious..crisp golden balls of yumminess. We are both vegetarian and have had most of the mild and medium spiced dishes and they have all been very tasty. Portion sizes are good and side dishes excellent, particularly the garlic and coriander nan and pea Rice. Never disappointed. .we will definately be back!Thank you for the nice comments and hope to see you soon

You arrive to a spacious, well decorated restaurant & a genuine friendly welcome from Imran - first impressions count.Great menu, with some interesting 'non-standard' dishes, reasonably priced beers & attentive staff. The food was excellent & full of flavour - so why not the full 5 stars? I have to be honest, U thought the main course portion sizes were a tad on the small size. That said, a great experience at a high quality place & we will definitely return.

Me and my sister visited this restaurant after hearing great reviews, unfortunately this wasn't the case on our trip. It was average at best.We visited mid-week where the buffet price is about £15pp - which seems a fair and reasonable price, and great if you want to try out other curries you wouldn't normally go for. When we first arrived, we were told there were no waiting and we could be seated right away - although we were told by the man seating us if we wanted any drinks we could order at the bar and wait in the bar lounge area. Yes of course we wanted drinks? Were there no table service for drinks? We were told there were no need to wait for a table and yet there we were waiting like two gooses and watching other people go in before us? Odd. We were waiting in the lounge area for at least 15 minutes before having to ask the man if we could be seated AGAIN, to which we were seated immediately. We had the buffet in our sights and wanted to be dazzled by the delights aagrah had to offer. Apparently this isn't much - we were expecting a variation of starters and curries...instead we got average food which left us disappointed, we were expecting so much more variety, better presentation of food...maybe ordering from the menu is better? There were nothing really that stood out for us, nothing that would make us come running back for more. The chicken tikka pieces were runny and tasteless and looked grey? For the curries - there were no old time favourites available (none of the classics such as tikka masala, baltis...) now I'm no curry snob, but there should be more variety for a buffet - the lamb dishes tasted slightly the same? If you're fussy I would suggest giving the buffet a miss and ordering off the menu. The chicken korma was lovely though, good effort on that one.Now the desserts were okay - the little jellies and cheese cakes were okay, nothing exciting. No indian rice puddings or anything exciting. We paid at the bar, and we only had one drink each and a jug of tap water while we were eating. I was surprised when our bill came to £38 - if the buffet was £15 each, then the pint of cobra and bottled water must of come to £8? Ridiculous. So to summarise - we won't be returning, if you want average food with average customer service with pricey drinks I recommend this place.
