Copper Bowl is an unassuming but beautifully decorated little restaurant in Markt Platz, Esslingen. As a South Indian, I was surprised to find a restaurant with this cuisine here in a small town. When I went to the restaurant for the first time, I had no expectations. I'll just say, in the 2 months that I lived in Esslingen, I frequented Copper Bowl around 15-20 times!!! The flavors are SO authentic to South India, it felt like home. The staff are so kind and take time to explain the dishes to those who may not be familiar with South Indian food.I highly recommend this place! I plan to travel to Germany and visit Esslingen sometime just to visit this restaurant again! I congratulate Rashmi, the owner, for her support to charity organizations that are dear to her and for her commitment to serve only fresh produce (nothing frozen). Great job!

This Indian restaurant is a rarity in Germany. Situated in a Baroque building dating from the 18th century there is no flock wallpaper to be found here. The dining room is on the first floor and approached via an imposing staircase; there is also a beer garden outside. For English tastes this restaurant offers pretty much everything you'd expect from an Indian restaurant and then some. I suspect for German tastes this may be a little radical. certainly when we visited it was not busy, but I understand the restaurant has only recently opened. The menu, which is available online, is extensive, Service is fast and efficient and the food is well cooked and presented. Costs for dinner are mid range, there is a lunchtime special priced at around 5 Euros, which we didn't try. All in all a good restaurant although English visitors, unless desperate for a taste of home would probably do better to try one of the many establishments offering local specialities. German customers have an opportunity to broaden their horizons and try something new.

if you want to try north indian food while stuttgart ,kohinoor is a good choice,,nothing very special about the place,staff are very polite and they have a good buffet with mostly north indian dishes.located at a very quite place near lowen markt
