The place was empty, but it was a bit early ahead of a show, apart from a steady stream of takeout customers. What can I say? it's an excellent high street Indian. The tikka came promptly and was delicious. Good quality and reasonable price, recommended

Great little takeaway that punches above its weight with a warm friendly welcome guaranteed. The food is of a high quality with nothing hidden here, you watch everything being freshly prepared and cooked. Wonderful sizzling sounds accompanied by a wall of spicy aroma - perfect. I've been here for my takeaway a few times, food is always great. I miss having a pint while I wait though but now there's the nearby brewhouse bar newly opened I can see me combining the events and the Jalalabad becoming a regular treat!

A traditional Indian restaurant serving all the classical favourites with a modern twist. The restaurant is located in a beautiful Hampshire village, a short distance from Winchester.
Have eaten at Kutis Noorani in Fairoak five times in the last few months, every time the food is excellent, service is excellent and we will return very shortly. Certainly the best Indian restaurant around Southampton and probably a lot further afield.Well done chef and staff !

Indian and Thai Restaurant and Takeaway
I have to be careful where I eat as have intolerances to certain foods. Having spoken to the staff and explaining was surprised to find the food came out containing all the ingredients I cannot eat. Will not be using this restaurant again.

I came across this restaurant as my favourite Thai restaurant nearby closed down last year as that's where I usually went for dinner when in Portswood, but I found a great substitute with this place. I had an early dinner and came in when it opened for dinner at 6pm, the restaurant became almost full by 7pm and this was on a Wednesday so it's obviously popular. It's not a big restaurant, it has comfortable decor and quiet surroundings, ideal for couples and friends. I chose a vegetarian chick pea dish and cauliflower baji which was delicious, I ate it all too quickly it was so good. There is a lot of choice on the menu, for both meat eaters and vegetarians. I didn't see the dessert menu, just had main meal. I recommend this Indian restaurant for anybody who loves curry, will return when back in the area which isn't often, but worth it.

I came with friends who had recommended this restaurant and we all enjoyed our various meals. I understand it has recently relocated from Winchester city, however it is only a few miles out of the city and easy to get to and park. First impressions are good with warm welcome and pleasant atmosphere. The menu is extensive and although not the cheapest is, importantly, tasty, well presented with ample amount of food. With friendly and attentive service without being intrusive it represents good value. I will return.

I had been so looking forward to having an Indian meal for years after not being in the UK for some time, and to say I was extremely disappointed is an understatement. I always check out Tripadvisor for recommendations, and with the glowing endorsements here I thought it was a no-brainer to visit. This is why I write, as there is clearly no correlation to actual fact in the dining experience.OK... I eat vindaloo.. full of depth, fire and flavour, but was concerned that this restaurant would have followed modern trends of using gravy with lots of nagas.. I got the gravy bit right, but it was bisto, but this wasn't my only gripe. The chicken pakora, were not done in batter, but breadcrumbed, set on a plate with barbecue sauce.. TBH if I'd wanted that I could have gone to McTukeyChicken.. No sticky mango chutney (the runny bisto flavoured mango offering just wasn't good) or lime pickle with the popads?? (I thing we got charged 4 times for the dips and onions, so really not impressed). The main courses other than my own featured a masala.. and I'm sorry to say, it just wasn't, wrong texture, wrong flavour, wrong colour, wrong looking and bisto flavoured. The final nail was the price.. Curry lovers be warned

We went with friends to this restaurant because of the Healthy Options Indian cuisine. All our chosen dishes were delicious. Such a relaxed evening with efficient and very friendly and polite staff. I would thoroughly recommend Jewels. We will certainly be going back!
