My wife and I found the food here to be pretty disappointing compared to other Indian restaurants in Zurich (e.g. Masala and -- especially -- Tamarind Hill). The portions were not large, the mango lassi was not good, could have even been out of a box for all we know, and the food itself was really not remarkable. Zurich is expensive, yes, but even for the price Masala and Tamarind Hill are far better than Tadka. The outdoor patio is nice but unfortunately even when we went, in mid-May, the outdoor was not open for some inexplicable reason despite it being a warm sunny day. Probably the most disappointed I have been in a restaurant in Zurich as compared to expectations from its TA ratings. Nothing was bad, but it was much like you'd expect for a 14 CHF takeaway place on Langstrasse.

We love Indian food and have a hard time finding good restaurants in Switzerland. Tamarind Hill was delicious and the service was impressive. Plus our clothes did not smell like Indian food. A bit pricey, to be excepted in Zurich, but not too expensive. A great evening meal.

Oldest vegetarian restaurant... Very good variation in dishes and you really want to try them all. You can choose at the buffet and pay by weight: it is not cheap... More expensive than a curry at a Thai place with meat, and not as tasty... Blend flavors in the dishes to have a safe choice for all. I would advice to them to stick closer to the original country flavors to make the dishes stand out more. Very conviently located in Zurich city (near the railway station and the shops) and it seems "the place to be" for all the hip hipster and self-proclaimed social medica influencers. I've been there a couple of times and was surprised how full and crowded the Hiltl always is. The quality of food is good (also a big variety) and the arrangements of furniture and green plants is very nice. However, it's hard to find a place, if you're coming by yourself or with more than 2 friends. Also, it is allowed to smoked on the terrace which has bothered me everytime I ate there (Zurich seems to be a city where a lot of people smoke).
