always a good recommendation when you see indian customers in their restaurant. the curry was fine - so were the buttered nams and the other dishes.you should try to avoid a seat close to the kitchen as the place is quite busy for messengers picking up deliveries.

The Raj Indian Restaurant Offers All Splendour Of Traditional North Indian Cuisine
Spicy and delicious,we enjoyed the chicken curry and Lamb Vindaloo. It was a dull day but we got a good view from the wall of windows (which were clean!) and imagine it would be spectacular on a sunny clear day.Prices were on the high end, especially when the fact that rice is priced separately and adds to the cost.

This is the second time I have eaten at Bihari in Newlands. The food is tasty, and you can have it spiced in the way you would like. But the portions are huge! This time we ordered one starter to share, a main each, and a naan each. It was still too much! As for the food itself, it was tasty. Tasty biryani (with rose water maybe- a little unusual but not too sweet) and delicious butter chicken. And yummy naans!Service was also friendly and efficient! All in all a good evening :)

A small curry take away and little sit down. We mix our own spices, so we can do our curries completely mild, but very flavourful.
This venue is tiny (with a few tables on the sidewalk), and consequently rather noisy. The menu is also small, but with quite an acceptable range of options. It was a hot night and the temperature inside was rather uncomfortable. There was no quibble with the quality of the food and the service though (whether from the amiable owner or other staff). Starters, main and side dish choices were all enjoyed by our party of 6. Drinks are BYO (no licence) with a voluntary corkage charge. And here, thankfully, mild means mild.
