We are a family run Gurkha Resturant located in Woolaston with family friendly bar and garden where you can enjoy your food or drinks. Plenty of space for kids to play around in the garden.
Two friends and I had lunch at the Ghurka Restaurant last Sunday following a recommendation from an ex-work colleague. We were not disappointed following the 40 miinute drive from Gloucester. The welcome was warm and the food was fantastic. The shame is that it is quite a distance from where we live - we will return but if it was closer I can imagine that we would visit a couple of times a month at least. Sadly when we visited, until 20 minutes before leaving, we were the only people in the restaurant - although we obviously received one on one service. The Ghurka restaurant is truly a hidden gem. We will be back. Well done to the chef and waiting staff.

We had another great takeaway from here tonight. The food is superb and full of flavour. This is possibly the best Indian restaurant that I have ever used and I have been eating curries since the 60's ! No need to say any more !

My brotherâs 60th birthday celebrations were well planned and we sent our menu choices a few days beforehand as requested by the restaurant. We neednât have bothered. Despite valiant efforts by the two waiting staff there was chaos in the service. All the mains were served over a 15 minute period and only then did start serving the rice and naans. Everything was cold by the time the complete meal arrived and even then the food was not very good. What was the reaction of the manager? To blame his customers and become loudly belligerent towards us, even though we were polite and respectful to him. I doubt very much that they will learn lessons from our experience and will find reasons to avoid changing their ways. We were going to spend the rest of the evening there but settled the bill and left. We avoided it the following day for Sunday lunch, preferring a 4 mile walk instead. Itâs just around the corner from the River Wye Lodge (a lovely place to stay) but donât bother to take your party here. It didnât spoil our weekend as it was so bad it was like we were cast adrift together!

Thursday 17th October 2019. Dinner for 3. It's a comfortable restaurant with friendly service. Decent sized tables. Food was good too; not the spicy gloop you sometimes get at "curry houses". Kingfisher on tap is good, and certainly preferable to the Indian Shiraz wine we had (called "Soul" something or other) which was horrible - avoid that one. Get your drinks right and this is a good night out.

We were surprised to discover there are four Indian restaurants in Monmouth and the Misbah came recommended. Not busy, though youâd expect that on a Monday night. Kingfisher draughty beer ok, though we prefer Cobra which was available in bottles. Good pickles with poppadums, sheek kebab and prawn puri starters. Excellent onion bhajis and Bombay (Bengal) aloo with main courses. Chicken tikka main course tasty and substantial. Bill a bit more than we expected but a good night nonetheless.

Went due to reviews on TA and really enjoyed the meal, quality of food was excellent. Really recommend a visit and we will return when in the area. Be aware it is a BYO restaurant but a few shops are local that can help if you want alcohol. Thanks for a great meal!

Have had a couple of nice takeaways so decided to try eating in as i always think the food is better. Wrong. Not only was the food rather average with some rather undercooked potatoes and rather tired popadoms, but the ambience was awful. It is definitely geared up for takeaways as the place was constantly full of people waiting to pickup, going in and out,and the extremely loud phone never stopped ringing. We overlooked an open door to the kitchen, not very inspiring, and the worst thing was a tv in the corner showing a noisy action film. All not very condusive to an evening meal so will stick to takeways! Shame, people are friendly and have had some nice food from them in the past.

Our family were attending a wedding nearby, and had rented a house nearby. We wanted an easy dinner having not long arrived from London. We called Cinnamons and arranged a takeawayThe food was ready on our arrival. We found the quality good , for example our tandoori chicken was moist and tasty. The resturant did appear rather dated, and lacked atmosphere Cinnamons reminded me of The India Club in Central London. One thing that did annoy was though the resturant advertised that they took credit cards we were asked for cash and directed to an ATM.
