Welcome to Mantra. Mantra comes from a Sanskrit word meaning a sacred message or charm. Mantraâs tale dates to 20 years, when our award-winning chef and owner Mr. Tarun Chadha, from North India, passed out of the Institute of Hotel Management, India. Over
Food generally good but starter of three chickens lacked sauce and lemon? Mains were fantastic - lovely rice and chicken and sauces. Garlic nan was poor though.Service rather spoiled from start as waitress unsure of deal and how to take voucher. First time I have had to look up and Email voucher details to company to receive credit for meal. Waitress really should tie her hair up - food hygiene issue with long hair and establishment states 5 stars on doors. Also toilets not hygienic.Scope for improvement but in summary overall impression raised by fantastic main dishes and warrants 4 stars I'm my opinion for this reason alone.Dear Simon,Thank you for your time to review Mantra and we are glad you enjoyed our mains. Our starters are served with 3 different chutneys (sauces) on the side ,we do not serve lemon with them, however if you would have asked the waitress we surely would have got you some.We have noted your point about the waitress's hair and how to take the voucher. Thank you for bringing it to our notice. We look forward to seeing you again.

Fine bangladeshi and indian cousin
After many years away decided to try Roshni when their new menu popped through the door. Biggest mistake of my life.Having ordered over the phone and being told it'll be 30 minutes I then actually had an hour and 20 minute wait for the food. Two waiters actually went into the back to see if it was ready and then simply carried on serving tables without having the decency to tell us it wasn't ready. On the night it wasn't a one off. Talking to two others. One had a similar time scale to us while the others was an hour and a half plus wait.Another customer had been given the wrong order and having found out at home brought it back. Upon checking their second order in the car this one was somehow wrong. How you can do it a second time is beyond meAt no time did any staff member apologise to any of us for the delays. They merely carried on taking more phone orders.Doesn't really say much when I could have ordered a takeaway from Birmingham. Been there and fetched it in less time than Roshnis service. If you want to waste the best part of two hours of your life give it a try by all means.

Tried the Tuesday Night Buffet, never been before!!First thing to say is the portions are extremely generous so you need to visit feeling hungry!!The curries were nicely spiced and tasted fresh. The meat I had was lean with no gristle or fat. The naan bread to share is enormous!!We took some food home with us as we couldn't manage it all. The staff were happy to do this. The Buffet is great value. Lots of food!! Give it a try!! Oh and the draught lager is Mongoose and tastes great!!!

I went here with a group of friends last week. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. The only reason I have 4 stars and not 5 is that, as other reviews mention, this place has no kerb appeal. Ive driven past in the daytime and thought it had shut down. Its such a shame that people may be put off from going inside by the unwelcoming exterior. That said, I will be returning with my husband asap.

The food was not tasty, having tasted Indian food in various towns including Manchester, Birmingham, Bradford and London the food just didn't meet the standards I'm used to.... For convenience we ordered a takeout and the food looked like they'd taken a paintbrush and painted all the food red....... Did nothing for the flavour and the curry was Bland and not flavourful. We've not been back since.

I should of wrote this review years ago 9th April 2008. It was our anniversary we called up to book a table, my bad we lost our way, didnt have gps on mobiles then... We had arrived late the restaurant was virtually closing for the night I could see chairs have been put away.... We had lost our way and I explained it was our anniversary the staff member at the time askes us to wait in the bar area to see if there was anything in the kitchen as everything was put away... I was hopping they would give us a table in the corner, I was praying they did something as I wasnt looking forward to the drive back to Birmingham. The staff did something better they pulled all the chairs down, setup our table next to the fire place, had candles on the table with dim lights and romantic music. I didn'tell my wife what was happening, truth be told i didn't know what to expect and naturally i had claimed that everything was planned by me... Candle light dinner next to the fire place WOW... Guys I cant thank you enough to tell you how special that was... The level of hospitality you had offered we have never experienced that kind of hospitality in the UK before it was like a dream and believe me the service was beyond personal something you would expect in the fareast... The food was amazing I dont need to add anything to what has previously been said... If there was ever an award to be provided for total excellence then you guys should receive it, I can proudly say you guys are more than just a restaurant, for us you were personal.... Thank you and we both wish you all the success in the world...Wow! Thank you for this great review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your dining experience with us. It was our pleasure to be of service and your kind comments will be passed on to our staff. We very much look forward to seeing you again soon.

For what it is and worth I enjoyed this place. Decided to come for a random dinner firstly was shocked that prices are basically same as London prices at an Indian restaurant but quality of food was on point, good customer service enjoyable food and if I visit again I will no doubt come again
