Weâve been regular customers of Sylhet Spice for many years, and I have reviewed this popular restaurant in Ripley in Derbyshire previously, though some years ago now in 2014. Weâve eaten in the contemporary and stylish dining room (which, thankfully, is devoid of all that ubiquitous Indian tat which seems to find its way to many Indian restaurants), as well as taking advantage of their fairly efficient take-out service, which we did on this occasion.Itâs been a few months since we last enjoyed food from here. I noticed quite a few changes to the menu, and actually wondered if thereâd been a change of ownership or management. Our order was taken promptly via phone, though we were not given a total cost for the order before the operator ended the call. The order was ready at the designated collection time. We ordered the Kashmiri Chicken and the Tamarind Chicken. Both dishes were full of flavours, with ample pieces of tender chicken. This was supplemented with a side of pilau rice, a side of Aloo Gobi, and a Peshawari Naan. The whole meal was good; itâs just a shame our old favourites (Chicken Tikka Chasni and Chicken Tikka Mossoman) are no longer on the menu, but great to see some new dishes. A wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options are available, and other dietary needs will be catered for without fuss.Weâll continue to support this local and popular restaurant. It's 'Bring Your Own' alcoholic beverages, which is a great concept as it saves the usual extortionate mark-ups. It's relatively wheel-chair friendly; there is a step up at the front door, but it should be easily negotiable.

We have been coming here for years despite travelling from far away..because the food is amazingly tasty, the atmosphere friendly, and Midge is just great, whether he's cooking or front of house. In fact, we like the restaurant and the local people so much that we've been looking to move here. Looking forward to many more years of fantastic food, great company, and so unbelievably friendly that we rarely leave without making new friends. This restaurant is a real gem...I hope that it never changes. I don't think it ever will.

Raising the standard of Indian fine dining, whilst remaining accessible, affordable and most importantly enjoyable Rich textures and the finest flavours leave our customers satisfied in a way they say, âonly taste can describeâ
I was working in the area and staying at the PremierInn the other side of the motorway. The pub next door serves mainly food from a microwave mainly and 45/50 minutes wait every night so looked for somewhere local with good fresh food rated well on here and came across this fab place. It was 3/4 of a mile walk for us each way but well worth it.We visited 3 days on the trot and every meal was fresh, tasty and well presented.Always greeted nicely by friendly staff(Think his name was Jack) anyway good lad.Well worth a visit. Great food. I know I will once back up there working.Thank you for the wonderful review. We look forward to serving you again soon, please continue to share your Delhi Nights experience with your friends and family.

Visited this place for dinner and it does send like it is more popular as a takeaway than as a dine in. Initially we were seated very close to the kitchen and the extremely strong smells emanating from within made my daughter fairly nauseous. Thankfully we were moved to another table at the far end from the kitchen.Good service by the staff. We tried the lamb chops, matar paneer, tarka daal along with naans and rice. The naans were humongous and were really good to taste. The matar paneer was probably the one lacking in authentic taste and seasoning. Lamb chops were succulent and full of flavour. The tarka daal needed a generous dose of salt after which it was quite up to the mark.Wouldnât give it top marks for authenticity in taste and texture but service was very good.
