Reviews on Healthy food in Tobago, Caribbean. The smaller half of Trinidad and Tobago, the 116-square mile island is a top eco-tourism destination. Its rainforest has been protected since 1776. Kayak through mangrove swamps, mountain bike testing trails in the island's northeast, drift dive with manta rays and sharks, hike the Rainforest Reserve or take in the distinctive Tobago pursuits of goat and crab racing. Cars, taxis and "maxi taxi" minibuses make it easy to get around the island. Carnival sees this exuberant island at its most extroverted.

This restaurant is part of the well known boutique hotel which takes a holistic approach to living and eating. If all you're interested in is some tasty food it doesn't disappoint, even if it's on the pricier side.We went on buffet night which I think is every Friday and you get to taste some unusual vegetarian food alongside well presented fish and meat. The jazz fusion band didn't turn up unfortunately but there is a delightful garden round the back for a pre or post-prandial walk

Canopy of stars, symphony of Nature ... and just one single table for two people---you and someone special (romantic, platonic or familial). More than simply "dining", Table for Two is a multi-dimensional creative and culinary experience for just you and
Arriving at the Arnos Vale EcoLodge which is one of the Table for Two venues was an adventure in itself. Arnos Vale climbs one of Tobagoâs many luscious hills bedecked in emerald green attire, glistening with diamond droplets of tropical rain. A steep hill incline with rustic paths our drivers task was complete when we reached the entrance to this unique dining location. Upon our arrival Elspeth introduced herself and her softly spoken words were soothing to our ears. A feeling of recognition rested easily on all three of us. This was going to be a night to remember. We were guided down a tropical path to two small cottages in candy coloured paint almost gingerbread in their appearance. Along a wooden deck our evening began. We were guided to our own personal dining space resplendent in its simplicity & vibrant colour. Local fabric tablecloths, low lighting and vanilla coloured shutters are sprung open by our host who politely asked if we are bothered by the wildlife. If this is the wild life then I am all for it! The fairytale aspect of this dining experience is not lost on us, we have arrived at Table for Two. A gentle explanation of the evenings events is given and the dining experience is explained. Letâs make no mistake - this is an experience and one I might add that we will cherish forever. 6 courses of vegetarian cuisine & neither of us are vegetarian. However, as the literature says postpone your preconceptions and be ready to take a journey of discovery. My husband and I are lovers, of Tobago, of good food & I like to think each other. But it is a rare bird that fluttered into our evening to remind us why we love each other, what makes our union so unique and why the universe really does have a plan for us both. Elspeth is not only a chef of quality, she has been given a gift & is happy to share it with us. I can truly say without doubt after 17 years of marriage, this was probably one of the most romantic & insightful evenings of our relationship. Truth, courage, love, abundance, peace, release. We were reminded are what make our own personal union unique. With respect for our evening, the rest is between our host & the stars above. As the rain hit the wooden roof, in the forest of its making and the tiny lights twinkled lighting our exit, Table for Two will forever remain our own little piece of personal heaven.Lots of love to you both! Thank you for a wonderful evening and treasured new connection.

You must make a point of eating here while you are in Tobago! This is excellent cuisine at a price much more affordable than nearby competitors. This is a small restaurant and you must make a reservation to eat here. They are not opened at night on Mondays and Tuesdays but do serve lunch.Chezelle and her mother opened the restaurant about 5 years ago and Kerry is a recent addition. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and asked about making a reservation. Unfortunately there was nothing available prior to our leaving Tobaga but Kerry said, "Can you come tonight at 7pm? and Do you like Shrimp?" We thought they were fully booked for the evening and were fitting us in. It turns out they had not planned on being open but stayed open just for the 2 of us.Kerry cooked a Shrimp Pasta dish for us. Mine was in a tomato sauce with roasted tomatoes and my husband's was in an Alfredo sauce. The dish was Chef Worthy and the flavors were delicious! Kerry told us that he had flambeed the 16 (8 each) Jumbo Shrimp using rum as well!! When we finished dinner and realized that we were the only people in the restaurant, we thought we should leave so that the owners could go on and enjoy Sunday School down the road. They asked us to stay and visit a while - my husband had the homemade ice cream for dessert and I had another glass of wine. This place is meticulous! There is an interestingly lit waterfall that creates a lovely ambiance for your dining experience. Be sure to go here! You will love it.We are extremely pleased that you had a fabulous time. Looking forward to welcoming you in the near future. Team Cafe Down Low
I was driving from Scarborough to Charlotteville on February 17 and stopped here for a cold drink. It was early morning the owner was just opening the place. Great place, beautiful view, very friendly staff. I was there by myself, the first client. When I returned, on my way back to Scarborough I intended to stop again but...the place was full of tourists and parking was very limited. You must stop here if driving by, incredible view and atmosphere.
Breakfast is wonderful! Thereâs no bad mood that can't be soothed by a bowl of your favourite cereal or two, hot eggs, or a stack of fluffy pancakes. I have fond memories of leisurely Sunday breakfasts with everyone piled around the table passing and savo
We popped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning and sat on the shaded breezy balcony. Our waitress was delightful and we had the pancake stack and freshly brewed coffee. Despite being really hungry we couldnât eat it all so they offered us a takeout box and even put a pot of syrup in. It is a great place run by lovely people. We will be going back in a day or two when we are hungry again!Lovely to have had you! It was a busy Christmas season and then we took some time off (and moved!), so please do forgive the delayed response. All the best for this new year! :)
