Reviews on Healthy food in Peyia, Paphos District, Cyprus. Pegeia (also spelt Peyia; Greek: Πέγεια) is a town in the Paphos District of Cyprus. Pegeia is situated mainly on the steep slopes of the coastal hills inland from Coral Bay, at the southern end of the Akamas Peninsula, and it lies 14 km north of Paphos. It has a large population of British ex-pats and a growing number of holiday homes and apartments. In the town centre can be found a town hall, church, police station and several small shops, restaurants and banks. Due to its hillside location many parts of the town offer views over Coral Bay and Paphos.

When you order brunch and it arrives in 3 minutes you have every reason to be suspicious that it was not freshly cooked. When you actually try the food and the eggs, mushrooms, bacon and beans are cold, the suspicion is confirmed. When you send it back because everything is cold and a new plate arrives within minutes again, and everything is lukewarm and covered in sauce to hide it, then it is a mockery. Coupled with the kind of horrible coffee that gives you a heart attack, this is by far the worst brunch I had in Cyprus. A brunch place that can't cook eggs or make coffee...better stay home and have cereal...

When the chef is the mother of the waiter and has been cooking here since 1983 you know you are in for a treat. Excellent value, traditional mezze with a couple of modern twists made our last evening one to remember. The starters consisted of a salad, bulger wheat cooked slowly in a tomato based sauce, grilled halloumi, tahini taramasalata and fresh Greek bread. The mains of lamb kofta, stifado, chicken and a beautifully barbecued lamb chop and pork chop made the evening. To finish a handful of local grapes. The village wine at â¬9 was a steal and a meal for two at under â¬44 belied its gastronomic value. Book in advance or turn up at 6!

Went past this restaurant earlier today 1/10/2019 and thought we might give it a try in the evening. Wow we are so glad we did as this little family restaurant served up the probably the best meals we have had during our vacation so far. They brought out olives, garlic bread and some Greek dip made of lentils. No idea what it was called but it was superb. We ordered moussaka and kleftiko meals which were superb and to top it all off they even brought out a lemon cake on the house for afterwards. The chef popped out for a chat afterwards and she is such a lovely lady you just have to give this place a try. You will not be disappointed
