We were totally blown away by the excellence of this little restaurant. Its simplicity in decor adds to the charm and gives no clue as to the magic which we were subsequently served. We'd heard about "the broccoli" and tried it.... fantastic. Every dish was innovative and beautifully presented. No way was this a meal of style over substance - it was total style and unbeatable substance.Thank you again for an unforgettable meal.

Close to the Guggenheim museum youâll find this wonderful, cozy, charmingly designed comfortable restaurant. Lovely staff, my spanish is not that good, but the menue was patiently translated and explained to us. The food is not only lovingly presented, it tasted deliciously. Large wine selection also presented from a knowledgeable staff.Travelling for two weeks in the region the biggest plus was, we were able to have a great meal in the afternoon. It was mostly just tapas during the day while travelling, dinner around 9:30 PM is just too late for me. Considering the quality of the food and the beautiful setting, the price of the meal was very reasonable. No tourist trap, real good food! Have a look at their website and the menu yourself.

A lovely place, in the city center of Bilbao, where you can enjoy with our menu&pintxos in a healthy way.
This place seemed to be well reviewed but our experience was less than expected. We entered telling the proprietor (?) we wanted a glass and a snack but were ushered to the table service area with a 3-course menu. Okay, boohoo for us, we could have been more assertive. Having stayed, I can say the dish I had (Bonito in txakoli sauce), was over cooked/dry and overpriced. Not a place we will return to.Thank you very much for the visit and your testimony. From what he says it seems that the experience was not as pleasant as it always is. We value very positively that we are told everything that can be improved.

I love tiny little restaurants like this one. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Mexican guacamole and burritos like it should be. Spicy as you wish. Cheap. Excellent red house wine: young or aged Rioja. Don't miss this one if you like Mexican food!

An informal restaurant, designed so that people from Bilbao and those who visit us can enjoy a more than excellent dinner at a reasonable price. As an objective, focus on food and on your ability to get excited and have fun, in the local essential product
At the reservation I was asked to specify à la carte or their tasting menu. We chose the smaal tasting menu (which was packed with flavors...). Extanobe is quiet, friendly staff, well timed and they do take care of intollerencies to food. It was a wonderful evening.

Gaminiz was one of my most enjoyable meals in the Basque country - and I'm just over 75 and travelled a plenty. Two great waiters, Asier and Jon, were polite, friendly and great professionals. Jon speaks English (I speak both English and Spanish) so had no problem with communicating with both super-friendly waiters. The food was delicious; unforgettable. A suprise in every way. We were two friends and it was suggested that we try "Nuestro Menu" ("Our in-house Menu") at 25 Euros each. We had a choice of nine dishes for the first course and six for second course and dessert. We were asked to choose two first courses to share between us and one first course individually. After that the second course and dessert was an individual choice. The shared first course was "calamares" and "tempura": wonderful. Our second individual first course was "Kebab vegetables" and "Lentils", which we both decided were overwhelming in taste and presentation. The second course, chosen indivually, was (i) brazed lamb and the other (ii) brazed squid. Again another overwhelming experience. But who were the cooks? Well done, whoever: a truly brilliant experience. And we enjoyed the wine: Luis Briñas "crianza" 2011 at 16 Euros. And I forgot the dessert! My friend had ice cream gin and tonic and I had "torrija a la naranja" (bread soaked in milk and fried in batter with honey and orange). We decided that this was one of the best meals we had had in a very long time, the more so as the appearance of the interior was so small with a cover but no tablecloth (albeit a a fine cotton napkin) and only 10 tables (x4), although upstairs Gaminiz apparently caters for weddings, etc., for up to 200. The Basque country is well know for good food and restaurants. I would class this as "superb" in regard to price, quality and service. One can also choose to have a daily menu, price 16 Euros or "a la carte".

Very beautiful place with a very interesting meal changing very often as they use season products. They are very warm people and fares are very OK, I mean, you can eat a lot and everything is so good that nothing seems to be expensive.I recomend it without any doubt.

Stopped for lunch over the XMAS period. Menu of the day was â¬9.80 ! Kids all went for macaroni and cheese, followed by "flash steak" & chips and a variety of deserts. Parents went for different local stews, with some having grilled fish and others the pork medallions in red wine sauce & chips. Nice deserts. Bread was just out of the oven.....yes the wine was "very young" but for under â¬10 what can you expect. Friendly service and tables moved around to accommodate the group. On a main road from Mungia to Plentzia so easy to find!
Una restaurante sencillo a 10 metros del caserÃo de Olentzero. Comida casera sin grandes pretensiones, muy bien servida y con raciones muy muy generosas a un precio muy aceptable.
