This small restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. Happy Cow recommended it so we gave it a try for lunch. Delicious healthy veggie wraps, sandwiches, and bowls, even had a vegan brownie, which almost never happens. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, answered all of our questions, even filled up my water bottle with some ice too! Also their patio is pet friendly so we could eat with our little chihauhau Pippin. Thanks for a delicious meal, we will be back some day!!PS only open during the day, no supper hours. Thanks for your kind words! I'm glad you found us and that we were able to give you a happy dining experience. The vegan brownies are one of my personal favourites!
The food was pretty decent, but the prices were steep. I understand gluten free costs are higher than regular bakeries, but I felt this place was quite pricey compared to other gluten free bakeries I have been to. The staff seemed okay, but did not go out of their way to interact with customers. They did have quite a few options in the bakery. I have heard the bread is good, but did not try it this time around. This is a buy and go place, no tables or places to enjoy your treats.
Traditional and modern chip truck food prepared without any animal products. Muskoka's only plant-based/vegan food truck.
My family and I decided to try this new food truck option in town to see if our dairy free son would like a poutine from there. My wife was ordering two small fries and asked if she could get the "cheese" on the side as our son has never had poutine before. At this the person inside the truck said, in a not so friendly tone, "um, this is a vegan food truck", and then went on to start explaining things..... we were quite aware of this going in, and are sorry that we used the word cheese when it came to the non-dairy shreds. Once we got our food it was good, but the "talking down" we got put a bad taste in our mouth. So, based on this we will be going back to the other choices in the area.Also..... no ketchup for those people who like it on their fries.Hello! I'm sorry you had a bad experience here. I remember your visit to the truck and remember your request. We have fans going inside the trailer and it can be very hard for me to hear people outside of the window. I thought you were requesting dairy cheese on the side because of your son's lactose allergy. My apologies. There are also a plethora of condiments available for you at the end of our condiment stand in a container. I do hope that you will try us again.

Since our doors first opened in 1954, Canadian families have been coming back to Swiss Chalet generation after generation. Our rotisserie ovens only accept fresh (never frozen), grain-fed, Canadian Grade A chickens, because quality is all we know. So what
I have been taking my groups who I tour with here for the last three years as an alternative to the resort restaurant on one of the nights. We have always had good service in the past. I always book in advance so they know the size of the group and it has never been a problem. Last night was completely different. We arrived at 6.45 and were seated immediately. I had to ask for more menus as they gave 1 between 4. After about 15 mins one server started taking drinks and food orders. She took 4 orders, went to the kitchen and came back and took the next 4. As we were a group of 32 I cold see this system would not work. I suggested she either took everyoneâs drinks orders or maybe took orders for 8-10 before delivering to the kitchen. Another server did come and start taking orders, but had other customers to deal with too. Some drinks started arriving with one person in my group receiving theirs one hour after they had been seated. The last meal was brought to them one hour and 20 mins after we sat down. I asked if they could discount the 10 people who waited over an hour for any food. This resulted in just $3.69 in one bill!! Hardly worth it I feel. I spoke to the manager and expressed my displeasure. She said it canât be helped as they have online orders to deal with, take outs etc and the kitchen were backed up. If they knew this was the case and they couldnât cope they shouldnât have taken our booking.
