In the heart of Fredericton, we offer a Social Dining experience featuring shared plates, craft cocktails and Maritime hospitality. Chef-owned.
Pleasant atmosphere at their new location on York. A small plate restaurant, it is designed for sharing and multiple dishes. Very nice choices, the food is thoughtfully designed, carefully prepared and nicely presented. The result is a flavour experience. Only criticisms would be that plates could be larger and the server needs a bit of instruction on proper wine service. Very much enjoyed our dinner. Thank you so much for coming in and for leaving a thoughtful review. We are happy that you enjoyed the atmosphere and food. We took your comments on wine service, provided to us privately, to our staff and will ensure that we improve in this regard.

My husband and I decided to give The Abbey Cafe & Gallery a visit in our quest to familiarise ourselves with the vegan and vegetarian scene in Fredericton. I have to admit my initial impression as we walked in was one of slight reservation and doubt but I am happy to report this feeling was soon dispelled. The menu is great! Not only do they serve 'today's soup' but also 'yesterday's soup', my grandfather always said second-day soup is best! Along with a fairly extensive menu with a selection of paninis, salads, hot bowls, cold bowls and burritos. With jackfruit, coconut bacon and tofu options on the menu it is clear to see this is a kitchen that is serious about vegan options and food. After much deliberation, my husband opted for the Pulled 'Pork' Jackfruit Panini which came with the option of soup or slaw. He chose the 'Yesterday's Soup' option, Coconut Corn Chowder. The soup was rich and creamy thanks to the coconut and the fact it was a day old. The panini was a revelation. He found the flavour of the pulled pork jackfruit totally convincing however the texture was obviously different. All in all, it received a huge thumbs up. I ordered the Spicy Pad Thai bowl, broccoli, edamame, sprouts, purple cabbage, brown rice and a spicy vegan Thai sauce. The veggies were all presented and cooked so there was still bite to them, just the way I like them and the sauce had a real kick to it. Again, very good and a generous helping. Then there is the Kombucha which they sell from a keg. The choices on Saturday were Apple Cinnamon and Wild Blueberry. We went with the Apple Cinnamon and boy was it good! I am not normally a Kombucha fan but this stuff won me over. It was fresh, perfectly flavoured, nicely carbonated and extremely more-ish. So much so that we purchased a growler and will be refilling it the next time we are in town. The staff were friendly and the cafe itself has a very relaxed vibe. We did not explore the downstairs seating area and full gallery but we will definitely be back and will do so then.So to sum up, I would have to say that The Abbey Cafe & Gallery is possibly one of the best options in Fredericton for vegans and vegetarians. Keep up the good work.Thank you Mairi M, we are happy you took a chance and gave us a try!

Located in the historic York County Court House c1855, Isaac's Way Restaurant can be found near The Fredericton Playhouse, The Crowne Plaza, and The Fredericton Convention Centre. We are open daily and we offer a dining experience for all ages, featuring
Interesting restaurant in an old bank building with private room set up in the old vault. Local art for sale on the walls and beautiful deck. Paid parking in the rear. A bit tricky for those with mobility devices as aisle in section we were seated in was narrow due to three doors in the area. Good options for vegans/vegetarians. Craft beer very good. Didnât try desserts as meals were substantial. Price was moderate. Service fair. Perk that produce is generally locally sourced.Thank you very much for your recommendation!
