The village of Franschhoek (French Corner), tucked into the Cape Winelands of South Africa, is known as the country's food and wine capital. Galleries and antique shops fill the tree-lined streets, and vineyards established more than 300 years ago cascade over the hills just outside town. Local activities range from wine-tasting tours to trout fishing and hiking. The Huguenot Memorial Museum honors the town's early settlers, who fled religious persecution in France.

Mediterranean characteristics embody the contemporary restaurant with the 'old town' deli offering cheese platters, gifts, freshly home baked breads and pastries daily. In the evenings the restaurant transforms, creating a premier dining experience where
We were visiting in the low season, so it was very quiet in the restaurant. The lady serving us though wasn't all that interested, a bit like you were in a run of the mill road restaurant. The dinner offer is good value for money and wine pairing quite good, but the food isn't quite to the high standard set by other restaurants in the same street (admittedly at a higher price). The lady serving us didn't really know how to introduce the dishes to us, and didn't really seem to care; again very different from other Franschhoek restaurants. To round off the mediocre experience: when I paid the bill with credit card, I added a tip (suggested on the slip). The lady executed the payment and then gave me another bill with the obligatory fixed service charge on top...Good dayWe are sorry to hear about your mediocre experience. Please send us a email to [email protected] to get more information as the waiters cannot add a service charge the bill.Regards,

Lovely place tucked away off the Main Street, delicious noodles and great atmosphere. Live music at night time.
Snobs Coffee specializes in coffee like few other coffee brands do. Being the only commercial Wood-Fired Roastery in all of South Africa Snobs offers a boutique roasting experience. They use a variety of matured wine oak as well as citrus, almond & plum w
My colleagues and I work very close by and snobs is becoming a very pleasant, popular and frequent outing for us. Been here three times and loved the food every time. The waiters are polite. Portions are definitely good and food is delicious. It's avergely priced. The coffee is so worth it. Coffee options are innovative with selections like Vietnamese iced (one of my favourite things ever after having travelled to Vietnam and what a joy that I could find it back home!) And Rommochino. Hot chocolates are decadent and cake slices might be the size of a small arm! There are not many coffee shops in the area that working people can easily sneak in and out of during the day, so this is a nice retreat. Will definitely be coming back here sometime next week.

Boschendal wine farm boasts some of the most picturesque views in the Cape Winelands, with dramatic mountain vistas visible from the lush lawns. So, itâs no surprise that the estate has become a popular picnic spot, as families and friends come together f
On the positive the location is wonderful for a relaxing picnic. We were a couple and there was more than enough food. On the negatives the food was a bit uninspired, maybe at the price they charge we were expecting something a little special. Finally half way through our meal my wife asked âwhy do the staff look so unhappy?â everyone of them looked as if they would rather be somewhere else. We have lunched in many wineries in the region this was below par.
