After 17 years visiting Valencia i am always suprised that we still find many good places to eat and have a drink. When we entered the restaurant we where warmly welcomed by the owner. After a small introduction of his famous and prize winning Sangria de Cavia we took a few nips and everybody in our group agreed. This Sangria tasted very very good.For lunch we took a menu with as main dish a plate of grilled and fried fish. My wife and I had a beautiful lunch here and had the fixed price â¬18 per person menu. This gave us 3 beautifully presented and delicious small tapas each and one main course each. All dishes looked and tasted beautiful. Service was first class, very friendly welcoming and efficient in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast - they have a menu that includes 3 small courses with juice and a coffee for 10 euros which was delicious. The coffee is some of the best I have tasted. They are very friendly - we were served by the owners themselves who were delightful. A must visit in Valencia.

The ample portion meant we had leftovers & we asked in Spanish to take them with us. They said no problem but we never received them. The waiter just ignored us the rest of our time there-too bad as that left a bad taste for us after such a nice meal.

The texture, taste and quality of the tapas are on another level. Every dish was a best in class and it was impossible to fault the restaurant, the service was attentive but not encroaching, the pricing was very reasonable considering the food here outshines other restaurants in the city that charge twice as much. If there was something I could take back from Valencia it would be this restaurant. A must.

The food in this place is really memorable. The lady who served us was from Sardinia and there were Sardinian influences in the food. The wine selection was great and everything at reasonable prices. Will definitely go here again. Thank you so much MarjanS for your opinion about Palao. We always trying to offer the best to our customers and also taking a great attention in the service. Only open Fri,Sat and Sun we came for Fri lunch. At under â¬10 per person for a 3 course lunch the value is incredible. The food was lovely. The warm calamari salad was a stand out with a smokey taste. The seafood paella was full of fish. Great bottle of wine for â¬12 complimented the meal. Filled up quickly after opening. Very cold and air conditioned. Lovely atmosphere. The only bad thing was the cafe con leche which was more warm milk with a dash of coffee.
