There is so much to see and to experience outside the boundaries of often overrun Barcelona. Take a trip into the pyrenees and find out about the real Catalonian lifestyle and tradition in the wonderful town of Berga. Once your there, don't miss out the incredible Magrana, a place run by the nicest and most helpful staff you can wish for. Easygoing, friendly an funny. But beware: the food there is so fresh and tasty that you might end up hanging around there for hours and eating yourself through the menu, like we did, with a big big smile on our faces. Also the locals at the tables around us were obviously enjoying themselves. Can't wait to get back!

We are just staying in a hotel near the restaurant. It was not our first choice, but the restaurant we had chosen was closed on the Sunday of a bank holiday weekend...We are english speakers, 4 adults and a 3 year old. With the help of Google Translate we ordered what we thought was a simple enough menu from the lady owner, 2 lamb steaks for the men and tapas of meatballs, rice, potatoes, ham, cheese, salad and chicken for the ladies and child.Instead we got about 5 other dishes we had not ordered and no salad, cheese or rice. To be fair the dishes they brought apart from one were good, so we thought , well they are very small, so must only be about 5 euros. We go a big shock when the bill came to 140euros. Particularly galling were 2 mushroom dishes (which we had not ordered which came to 25 euros.)We were told these dishes were specialties of the region and we did not order them and had we known these special mushrooms were 100 euros a kilo we would definitely not have ordered them. Eventually they knocked 7 euros off the bill for a dish we did not order and did not eat.The 2 stars represents that the food was actually good, but the owners just completely ignored the wants of us customers. I really cannot tell if they are so enamoured of their cooking that they think they know best, or were just trying to rip us off.I would however advice people not to eat here unless you speak good spanish or catalan and if you are given a dish you have not ordered, check the price before you accept it.
