We had good food here, but the absolute highlight was the PÄhoa lava museum next door. It is run by local volunteers who have been displaced or affected by the 2018 eruption. Because it is run by volunteers it doesnât have set opening hours but the curator happens to run the local art gallery as well and overheard us talking and opened it up foe us and another couple eating at the next table. The 30-45 minutes we spent there were the most informative Iâve ever had at a museum because they were personal accounts by people affected not just during the eruption but also the ongoing issues they have today. Mother Nature always wins in the end:)

My gluten free wife loved this place, actually we all did! I loved the blueberry (gluten) pancakes on the big breakfast option (homemade syrup...yum). Also Sunday offered a basket of free sweets. It was a nice deal, very chill, friendly staff.

I have eaten at this little restaurant a dozen times since discovering it. The beef pho is my favorite when it is chilly outside (I know, it isn't chilly here often but I consider it chilly when the temp is 75 degrees F) and the beef spring roll cold noodle salad when it's warm. They serve breakfast all day and my hubby's favorite is the hamburger steak, grilled onions and extra gravy. They make a mean burger too and Rueben sandwichTheir prices are reasonable and the owners are really nice people.
