The Pupusas here wear amazing. I would have came here more if I knew about it. I ordered 4 pupusas thinking they were small. They were actually super big. I could barely eat 2. If you like garlic they have that as an option.
Making the best quetzalteco chocolate since 1870, artisan and gourmet chocolate.
El chocolate muy sabroso, fuimos a una cena en el lugar, nos dieron unas sillas viejas oxidadas, la comida estaba frÃa, el café tibio , el personal trato de ser amable, lo único rico fue el CHOCOLATE.

Restaurant of gastronomy of Quetzaltenango, you can enjoy delicious dishes, drinks and traditional desserts in a cozy atmosphere.
We went to a graduation dinner, and really enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food of El Apaste. It is a converted house, filled with plants, pottery and photos of the past, but very tastefully done. We explored various rooms and felt right at home in the open air patio. We didn't see a menu, as it was dinner for about 50, but what we had was delicious; baked chicken in a pipian sauce with rice and tamals. The food was hot and very rich, starting with a delicious soup and accompanied by hot tea made from cinnamon sticks. Service was good, but slower than it could have been. All together, I would like to go back and see the menu and try a few other dishes. One thing, the map here directs you to Olinipeque, not to Xela. It is near Albamar, Linea Dorada and La Democracia, not near the airport. Check Google Maps for location and directions.

Love everything about this place - from the ambiance to the food and the free wifi :) Breakfast, lunch, or drinks, whatever one of these you are craving, Panquwaffles is the place to go. Want to indulge in decadently topped waffles? How bout a healthy burger? Looking for lighter fare? Go for the natural green juice. Want a little more fun? Check out the rooibos red drink that is a version of sangria---mmmmm. Only problem with this place? There are so many good options that you will find yourself waffling over which one you want to try first!

Went here to refuel after a reasonably challenging climbing day on volcán Santa MarÃa. Great food here! They have great juices to try and their portions are plenty filling to this gringo:-). Their pepÃan is the best! The service is attentive. Had to laugh when getting ready to use the restroom. Make sure you notice the low bridge on the step up or you will feel that low bridge! I tried to move that bridge and let's just say I lost:-). When you go inside that room, you'll see the light hanging by the electrical wires. That don't work here in the U.S. That's the the life though in all the third world countries I've visited .

I've visited Albamar twice and had their signature dish both times (basically fried chicken and fries). I enjoyed it both times, because the chicken is fresh and tender and the service was always friendly. Albamar appears to be a family and friends-type restaurant but the second time I visited the environment seemed confused. I attended with some colleagues in the evening, and while there were children's cartoons on the giant TV, the lights were dimmed, candles were lit, and a small singing trio began a romantic ballad in the corner. I'm not sure what they were trying to achieve, but the effect was confusing at best. Still, entertaining!

This is an elegant restaurant to enjoy a special ocassion or a business meeting meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I could say this is the best restaurant in Xela. It is a first class restaurant without a doubt. Food is exquisite! At breakfast you can enjoy at least ten options of meals, all delicious. Food presentation and quantity are perfect. Modern, with tables well set and everything neat. First class service. There is a breakfast buffet on Sundays, excellent too! Medium range prices. Highly recommended!

We stayed in Xela for 4 weeks and this was the best meal we had. The Estofado was killer. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
