It is a former free imperial city that owed much of its fame to being the seat of the Imperial Supreme Court (Reichskammergericht) of the Holy Roman Empire. Located at 8° 30′ E, 50° 34′ N, Wetzlar straddles the river Lahn and is on the German Timber-Frame Road which passes mile upon mile of half-timbered houses. Historically, the city has acted as the hub of the Lahn-Dill-Kreis on the north edge of the Taunus. The city is known for its ancient town and its medieval cathedral.

Super overpriced and really not onest place and staff,ok for Germans people because they don't recognize quality of mediterrean food,staff cheat on all plates,one starter and one bad plate 51 euro!!!!First and last time,we were 10 persons of different nationality and that we travel usually in all the world ,all of us can only laugh and forget this such of disonest place!!!Stay faar away!!!!

We were visiting Wetzlar as my wife was working in Marburg and needed some lunch. I had hoped that we could eat at the Fest on Kornmarkt but had a contingency. And that was La Piazza, who were doing the Kornmarkt catering anyway. I read the reviews and the only negatives seemed to come from groups.Firstly, the interior is VERY tasteful. Modern Italian with a touch of country déco but most pleasant. The food too was superb - my wife's country pasta was scrumptious and there were no problems about getting spaghetti with butter and Parmesan for my son. My pizza base looked a little mass produced but had actually clearly been freshly-made. There was also an excellent choice of wines.The waitress (my guess was the boss) did seem a *little* off-hand but we still got everything we wanted and with no problems (my guess is that the fair outside might have been a stress factor).Would I go here again or recommend it? We ate here on an early quiet Tue evening, food was delicious, plenty of options (also veg and fish), service good& friendly. Terrace outside by the river and night life would be worth checking out later on summer - will visit again!

Food is ok.It could be better because it's never good enough.It does not matter to me, how can you have a steak house and do not serve beer or wine.It's the same as licking ice cream through the glass on the window.When I was in Turkey, I got a beer next to a steak.But I do not get it in the middle of Germany, so I'm a disaster.They never see me here anymore.
