Myrtle Gallagher founded Gallagher's Bar in 1934, widowed with three young children at a time when women were not normally out front as business owners...No matter it grew into a St Paul favorite and over the years a place where old friends meet. Myrtle's grandsons, Pat and Mike still steer the ship and the restaurant offers home cooked deliciousness 7 days a week. The breakfasts are to die for and the prices hard to believe. A west side must visit.

We have been here for lunch a couple of times during the week, no events going on down town so the staff must be cut to the bare minimum. It shouldn't take 30 min. to make a salad and a sandwich, especially when there are only a few full booths. The food is very good but just too slow.

Great location. Dine while watching small planes take off and land. Outdoor seating. We went on a Saturday at 11:30. Brunch menu was the only option until 4:00pm. I ordered the beet salad for $12.50 it was a good portion and tasted fantastic. The brunch menu is limited but enough selection. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My only real complaint would be it's real loud inside because they have the open ceiling decor. Beet salad a 10. Noise 4.
