I highly recommend eating at Chandini's, there is a great choice of Indian cuisine including vegetarian options. I have just tried their Quorn Tikka Balti Palak, it was delicious! I will definitely order that again. The service at Chandini's is always friendly and if you're unsure what you want, they will recommend dishes to suit your tastes. There is parking around the back of the restaurant and wheelchair access.

Lussmanns is Hertford's busiest independent restaurant. Since opening in 2004, they have really come to understand our locals and what they want from their restaurant. Centrally located in the historic 'Egyptian House' (for Da Vinci Code fans, this was ru

Sue and her team are excited to welcome you to the White Horse Free House a family friendly pub/restaurant nestled in the village of Wareside Herts. Enjoy home cooked food and traditional Cask ales.
just nowThere is no option here for 0 star rating - Disgusting service at this pub. Turned up Sunday early evening with 4 children, 5 adults to eat, the reception we received when entering the pub was foul. We were asked if we wanted to eat inside or out - to which we asked to sit outside so the children could play and it was lovely weather, in reply to this we were told "well that's difficult" (dont offer!!) We were then told if we want to do that we have to pay for our food upfront , again very rudely, almost suggesting that we would peg it off without paying. There was then the "issue" when asked if we could swap the normal chips that came with the meal for the halloumi chips, offering to pay the difference of course. But! That was too much bother , I was told "they are very expensive you know" followed by a snidey look. All drinks orders were messed up and it was all painfully slow. Went to sit in the garden where our food came out ' one childs food had beans which were ordered - owner said she didnt know that because it wasn't written down- not our fault! One childs tomato pasta came out with no tomato sauce just pasta and cheese ?! Lamb skewers were revolting, sunday roast was heated up rubbish. The one thing that was ok was the packet made Yorkshire. One member of our party complained and was given a mouthful by the owner who felt "she was not being rude" after pushing the plate at our friend and asking aggressively what was the issue with it. We left after having had our evening ruined by this revolting woman who judged us quite obviously as soon as we stepped foot in there. Unlucky for her I am a local and will be letting people know about this - and it will be popped on the other village sites to save anyone else being looked down on, spoken to like utter rubbish, and just having a wasted evening. The pub opposite looks much nicer- will send everyone their way! And to the landlord / lady, you need to work on your customer service skills - you are RUDE, you lack any kind of people skills, and overall just a disgusting human.
