Came here on an evening where one was bored so fancied a trip to the Picantes restaurant which has recently opening in the town centre. Nearest parking to here is just off aldergate and is situated behind bonds bar. We entered and was astounded how small the place was.. my living room is no bigger! and the loud music hit us as well.. "House every weekend" was the interesting choice of song playing, possibly not what i was expecting in a restaurant of such class, But the interior was lovely decourated and clean. The waitress appeared and guided us to a table up the corner and brought us some menus. The menu was fab! Great price and good selection and also there are little deal sections for those who want to save to the pennies but add on the pounds in body weight lol. Anyway.. Food took Approx 15 minutes and was delicious. me and partner really enjoyed it! The side of coleslaw was a great huge portion for the price as well.. all good! The staff here were extremeley polite and I will almost definantly return! Thank you for a great time guys! But maybe change the choice of music to something more mellow. :)

Corey's is a friendly and welcoming sports bar style pub and dessert bar with a full extended bar, multiple TV screens serving american style dining and extravagant home made desserts. Serving locally sourced gourmet food from 8am-9pm Sunday to Wednesday
Our son had the choice of anywhere for dinner and he picked Coreyâs. We went on a Wednesday evening and were able to get a great booth as soon as we walked in. Most booths were occupied as were a few other tables but there were plenty of staff and so we were served quickly when we went to order. The food came out quickly and was all hot. It was also delicious. The portions have become more generous than the last time we went approx 6 months ago. We were really impressed and felt value for money has improved. We had one happy birthday boy!

We visited early evening tonight to have a family meal as my aunt has come to visit.Upon arrival we waited next to the 'wait here to be seated' sign and on a number of occasions a male member of staff walked past us but never bothered to even acknowledge us, after 10+ minutes I gave up and seated myself as I didn't have all night. Understaffed or busy (which it wasn't busy when we arrived) it takes seconds to acknowledge somebody and say I'll be with you in a minute and it's this that makes all the difference. After seating ourselves we looked over the menu and picked what we wanted, given that we were still ignored on the table we were sat at and on previous visits the order has been taken at the table I went to the bar to order (had i have been acknowledged and seated as per the sign I'd have known they now don't take orders at the table). We ordered at the bar with no issues but it was disappointing that you cannot have a tab, especially when your going to want more drinks and afters. The food on arrival was edible but not anything to shout home about, I had to send mine back as soon as it hit the table as instead of the melted Stilton cheese on my burger I got a dry slab of it thrown on instead, quite disappointing when something simple that is promised on the menu isn't executed. Before any of us could get a taste of the food the server who had ignored us since entry to the premises asked if the food was ok, I politely informed him I'd had it for less than 30 seconds yet he never bothered to return to check we were happy after tasting it.After our mains we decided on desserts and this is where the table service is missed as there was one server on the till who was taking the food orders and fulfilling the drinks orders also, so it took 15+ minutes to order whilst waiting in a small space with people needing to come past constantly. This is time I've missed catching up with my family who aren't here for long and something that needs looking at as it really ruins your experience, I have no objection to bar ordering but not when your queuing over 15 minutes as one person is trying to do it all is ridiculous.Whilst we were ignored and felt like we had a very cold reception during our time here, there was one person who turned our time in the establishment around and that was Josh. Josh was everything you want in a server and something the other members of staff should strive to be like, he was friendly and nothing was too much for him. I later found out he's actually kitchen staff but was helping out on the shop floor. If the message can be passed to Josh on how great he was that would be much appreciated as if it wasn't for him I'd have been even more disappointed than i was as he managed to turn it around for us.I can't say I'll be back in a hurry but if there were more Josh's I'd happily return.Had we not have been ignored upon arrival I would have scored another star, but there is no excuse for poor customer service regardless of the situation your in.Thank you for such an in-depth review. I have passed on your kind words to Joshua. I am saddened to read that the level of service did not meet your expetations. This is an issue I will be taking up with the waiting team during our next team meetin. We do hope that you are prepared to give us another chance in the future.phil
