Before the Sudanese Civil War, South Sudan was part of Sudan, but it became independent in 2011.

Authentic means eat with your hands. But the fish is fresh and the bread is endless - fresh baked- and great fries. Worth a visit to know the Sudan we all read about in books.

We dropped in for supper after being away for many years. The food wasnât quite as good as our memory served us. Looked forward to fish but it was not available. Chicken shawarma was ordered and was ok. Huge portions with plenty of fresh green salad and soup. Soup was great! Also had the mixed dish, minus fish, but tasty. The place was SUPER busy, but service was decent. Prices good for a family.

Some of the best food in Khartoum, Turkish style, in a prime location on Africa road.Like it's original namesake, Topkabi had good hot oven bread, great grills, good yoghurt and nice eggplant dishes. Their chicken wings are very tasty too.Interior a bit dull but service is good.Prices very reasonable.
