On the outskirts of Saintes and near the hospital we discovered this place. It doesnt look good from the outside but go in and be delighted. An excellent spacious and warm eating area, good food and brilliant service.We ordered the two menu fixee at 21 Euros each and this came with tapas as a starter and then a main course. We had tarta espagnol, fish rillettes, fried chorizo and mushrooms as the tapas starter - these were excellent. This was followed by the chicken brochette with a good salad and fries and finally dessert. The food was brilliant, the service excellent and it was really relaxing. So worth the visit

We stopped for lunch. Service was OK and the starter, Carpiccio de Boeuf, was good but the burger, yuk. Burnt on the outside but raw throughout. The chips were black indicating that they had been twice cooked and they were slimy with fat. The two pichets of wine, ordinary wine, cost three quarters of the whole price. We have known the bar/brasserie for nearly 30 years and are sad that its food has descended to such a low and the price of its wine to such an extortionate high. We will not be returning and would not recommend it to anyone.

I ate here on the evening I stayed at Hotel O'Nice, right next door, so it was convenient.The focus is very much on meat. I didn't notice whether there were vegetarian options so you would need to check.I had a nice steak, cooked perfectly, very reasonably and decent house wine. The service was quick and waiting staff polite and friendly. It is the obvious choice when staying at one of the two hotels in the same small campus.

Buffet , plat ,fromage, dessert, café et vin le tout pour 14⬠ce n'est vraiment pas cher service agréable souriant .Assiettes très copieuses et délicieuses Tout est fait maison ,un régal.Une adresse à retenir
