Just ended our vacation in the Mayan Riviera and thought to provide a review of this restaurant in Playa Del Carmen.Having been to many Brazilian steakhouses including one of the best in Brazil, Bovino's measures up very well to its reputation in serving the best churrascaria fare in Playa Del Carmen. Whether you're having beef, lamb, pork, chicken or shell fish it comes perfectly grilled to any desired level of doneness with high flavour you can expect from the best method of grilling meat wrapped in rock salt and on charcoal. Because servers bring the meats still sizzling, the juiciness of any meat just explodes at the first bite. They also serve and carve at your table a succulent prime rib roast that has been slow cooked for 14 hours. You can see these prime ribs roasting and rotating above wood ashes as you enter the restaurant. The salad bar is just exquisite with a large array of zesty salads prepared in various ways and is enough to satisfy the most discerning vegetarian. It also includes to name a few New Zealand mussels, grilled calamari, sushi, cheeses, fish stew done in a Spanish/Mexican sauce (very good), authentic Spanish Paella and many other delectables. Service is very attentive and top notch with great wines selection and sangria.Note: You need to come to this restaurant hungry as it is not for anyone counting calories. Enjoy!

this place has become a total hit and miss. used to be fresh food and solid service ie. now it is becoming more of a tourist trap. you never know what you gonna get on your plate, or if your order will be totally screwed by a waiter or messy kitchen, or both... same goes for drink - don't be surprised to receive a cheap house whiskey in your old fashioned after paying for a premium brand one...sad. used to love that place
