Liapades (Greek: Λιαπάδες) is a medium-sized village located on the northwest side of Corfu, 4 km (2 miles) away from Palaiokastritsa. It has a quiet, agriculture-based economy during the winter. In the summer, the local industry mostly relies on the tourist trade, although the place is by no means mainstream. Liapades is situated on the sides of Kourkouli mountain, and spread right up to the North Valley (Πάνω Λιβάδι in Greek).

Stopped of at Makrades to have lunch - an interesting place of interest, several local shops etc. The taverna is a nice and comfortable taverna offering a nice range of traditional food. Some interesting decoration in taverna worthwhile having a look.Food was excellent, home-made and nicely served. Service is prompt but in a relaxed Greek way. Taverna is clean, toilet facilities are excellent - overall I would give it 5 stars, so well worth a visit. It is obvious that Makrades is a stop off place for Corfu bus tours for tourists - we saw this whilst there but tourists got off to visit local shops (only a few shops but they are geared for tourists) lots of traditional stuff to buy. Tourist buses only stopped for a short time before moving on to their next drop off to visit elsewhere.

We were recommended here by a local & I'm so glad we were. The outside seating area has a lovely atmosphere and is very comfortable. The food was very tasty and I'm only disappointed we wasted other meals trying different restaurants as I would have liked to try more on the menu. We had the cheese saganaki to start and I ordered the Sofrito for main while my friend ordered the mixed souvlaki. All dishes were fabulous and not to be missed. Price wise was similar to other restaurants in the area and I felt good value for the quality and portion sizes.

Rain or shine (mostly sunshine in Corfu), La'Kantas Restaurant will be here to serve you fresh & quality food in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Located in Gouvia Corfu (opposite entrance to Luis Corcyra Hotel). Hope to see you soon!
I've ordered a moussaka. It was not properly heated (cold) in the microwave. The waiter was convinced it was served straight from the oven. Verry dissapointing, spend your money somewhere else.Dear Ronald,We donât usually reply on our TripAdvisor reviews, but we felt like we should take the time to reply to yours... As you know we were very busy on the night you visited, that does not justify as a reason that you were unhappy with your Mousaka not being as hot as you would of liked, but when we asked if we could arrange something else, you very rudely said take the plate away! At the end when you asked for the bill you demanded that you should have the other plates for free as a good gesture! As far as we are aware in no country can you demand a gesture of good will from anyone! It saddens us that after going into the trouble to post a review you failed to mention how much your partner enjoyed her fish Bourdeto and also no mention of your starters! We honestly donât believe you had a 1 star experience in our restaurant! Thanks for visiting and maybe weâll see you again sometime! Christos

You'll get better gyros and meatballs elsewhere - trust me. Grubby plastic menus need a revamp to something simpler and more hygienic. Friendly young waiter but bland expensive food purely designed for tourist taste buds. oh and the small portions and hefty prices only add insult to injury. I wanted my freddo espresso with honey but after a few minutes of polite argy bargy with the owner i finally relented and my beverage was served with sugar instead of honey - yuck! Here's a tip - just give the customer what they want. It's not that difficult.

We ate here after trying quite a few other places in the area, It's got a lovely view, well worth the short climb up the steps. The food we had (gyros, hummus, grilled haloumi) were really delicious and better than most tavernas I'd say. Nothing special in terms of menu options but very authentic and comfortable place to eat. We got given some lovely complimentary dessert which was a great touch. The staff were generally very helpful and polite. My only drawbacks were that the waitress and hostess had a loud argument in the middle of the restaurant (quite offputting) and the owner put out mosquito repelant incense next other customers (who he recognized from previous visits) but not next to us so we got very bitten. Still would recommend and say it's one of the better tavernas in paleo (particularly in terms of the taste of the food)

We have grill menou and local wine at the quit green place.we open all year and the weekends with life music
Having visited Paleokastritsa and heading back to Corfu, we ended up accidentally finding this place. You would not think much of it, being one of those places on the side of a road in the middle of (relatively) nowhere. However, you'd be absolutely dead wrong not to stop there if you get a chance! We ordered a mix of various things, but what really stood out for me were the sardines and lamb chops. The sardines (starter dish) had a really nice flavour (strong) and texture. If you like fish, you will not be disappointed. As for the lamb chops, what to say other than the fact they were the best we had during our 1-week trip in Corfu island! Also, bonus, the owner (Fannis - apologies if I mispell that) is a really nice guy.If you are around there, and if like us you're feeling hungry, this place is worth the detour!

Specialising in steaks (but plenty of other choices) this lovely Taverna gave us one of the best meals we have ever had in Corfu. Fresh home-grown vegetables were a delight. Beautiful ambience under shady trees and vines this is the epitome of what a family run Corfiot eatery should be. Well aged prime beef (sirloin, rib-eye and a massive 900 gram tomahawk) expertly cooked. Plenty of other choices too. Highly recommended.
